System Engineer

What will you do:
We are looking for a Foxboro DCS System Specialist eager to develop strong expertise in engineering, configuring, and executing control systems based on EcoStruxure™ Foxboro DCS.
The role is based in Stezzano / Milan, with availability to travel up to 40-50% of the time for configuring, testing and supporting the project execution both in Italy and abroad.
You will be involved in many technical phases of process automation projects, working closely with Project Managers, Technical Leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable, and high‑performance control solutions.
Engineering & Design
- Contribute to the definition of Foxboro DCS system architecture, including controllers, I/O modules, networks, servers, and HMI infrastructure.
- Configure Foxboro hardware (FCP, FBM, I/A Series components, network devices) ensuring performance, redundancy, and compliance with design expectations.
- Support the preparation of technical specifications and detailed design documentation.

Implementation & Testing
- Prepare systems and get them ready for later integration, testing (FAT/SAT), and commissioning activities in collaboration with internal teams and customer representatives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software/hardware issues throughout development, testing, and startup phases.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, cybersecurity requirements, and relevant industry regulations.
Technical Coordination & Customer Support
- Provide technical support during startup and post‑startup phases, ensuring system reliability and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and maintain documentation: design reports, configurations, test procedures, and operational manuals.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and standardization of engineering practices related to Foxboro technology.
Continuous Improvement & Growth
- Stay up to date with new features, engineering tools, and upgrades related to the Foxboro platform.
- Participate in technical training, certification paths, and knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
- Work within an international environment, helping foster strong communication and teamwork.
What will make you successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, Computer Engineering or related technical fields (or technical diploma with proven experience).
- 2-4 years of experience working with industrial control systems (DCS, PLC, or SCADA).
- Basic knowledge or hands‑on experience with Schneider Electric Foxboro DCS or similar technologies.
- Understanding of control logic, PID loops, interlocks, sequential control, and HMI design.
- Knowledge of industrial networking, redundant architectures, and server infrastructure.
- Good verbal and written English skills.
