Supply Chain Planner Buyer

Schneider Electric is seeking a motivated individual for the position of Flow Controller / Supply Chain Buyer to join our Plant II team at our new medium-voltage Engineer-to-Order (ETO) campus in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. This role is responsible for balancing supply and demand, managing material flow, supporting production scheduling, and ensuring product availability across the supply chain. The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing, supply chain planning, and SAP-driven materials management within a manufacturing environment.

This position is part of a plant ramp-up initiative and will play a key role in establishing processes, supporting operational growth, and driving successful production scale-up from day one.

What Will You Do?

  • Ensure the balance between customer demand and available resources (MRP) for raw materials, components, subassemblies, and finished products by managing customer requirements and replenishment backlogs.
  • Coordinate production scheduling activities to support operational objectives.
  • Ensure product availability by proactively resolving back orders, shortages, and supply constraints.
  • Manage the backlog, including the creation and rescheduling of manufacturing and purchase orders.
  • Execute daily actions related to MRP messages (SAP MD04 or similar tools).
  • Support upstream and downstream supply chain flows to improve manufacturing and overall supply chain performance.
  • Actively participate in the SIM Cycle 2 process and continuous improvement initiatives.

What Qualifications Will Make You Successful?
  • +3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, buying, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience purchasing direct materials, components, or production-related items.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing processes, inventory management, and material planning concepts.
  • Experience working with suppliers to manage deliveries, resolve shortages, and improve performance.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, Logistics, or a related field preferred.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 86,400 - USD 129,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
