What will you do?

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for driving supplier quality performance, ensuring the timely resolution of quality issues, and developing supplier capabilities to meet Schneider Electric and ASCO quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and coordinate supplier quality activities related to production and incoming material issues.
• Partner with suppliers to investigate quality concerns, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
• Drive supplier performance improvements in quality, delivery, and process capability.
• Deploy and maintain Schneider Supplier Quality Management (SSQM) requirements, including supplier performance monitoring, PPAP, audits, and corrective action processes.
• Manage and resolve critical supplier quality escalations impacting production, customers, or business continuity.
• Lead PPAP activities for new product introductions, duplicate sourcing, supplier transfers, tooling moves, engineering changes, and outsourcing projects.
• Evaluate and approve supplier quality documentation, including PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA studies, capability studies, and process flow diagrams.
• Conduct Supplier Assessments (SAM), process audits, and improvement reviews to ensure compliance with Schneider Electric quality standards.
• Partner closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Development, Sourcing, Procurement, and Plant Quality teams to drive supplier performance and issue resolution.
• Support product launches and supplier qualification activities to ensure production readiness.
• Utilize Schneider Electric quality systems, tools, and databases to monitor supplier performance and risk.
• Analyze supplier quality metrics and identify improvement opportunities to reduce defects, improve process capability, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Support cost reduction, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives through supplier development activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, Supplier Development, Manufacturing Quality, or Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience working directly with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
• Strong understanding of quality methodologies and core tools, including:
  • PPAP
  • APQP
  • PFMEA
  • Control Plans
  • MSA
  • SPC
  • 8D Problem Solving
  • Root Cause Analysis
• Experience conducting supplier audits and process assessments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and technical documentation.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably related to mechanical components, metal fabrication, machining, stamping, welding, casting, or assembly operations.
• Advanced English proficiency (required), including the ability to lead supplier meetings, present findings, write reports, and communicate effectively with global stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, communication, and influencing skills.
• Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, reporting, and performance metrics tracking.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix and cross-functional organization.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting suppliers within electrical, electromechanical, industrial equipment, automotive, or manufacturing industries.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and quality management systems.
• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt, or Black Belt certification.
• Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and supplier industrialization activities.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
