Sr. Technical Writer

As a Senior Technical Writer, you secure on-time-delivery of Technical Documentation working closely with the R&D team of Power Products Line of Business. You coordinate with internal and external resources to produce high quality print and online information to install, operate and configure our Low Voltage Products and Systems. As a Senior Technical Writer, you will be involved in coordinating & delivering Technical Documentation, Technical catalogs, 3D Digital assets.

What will you do?

  • Analyzing requirements for Technical Documentation according to use cases and targeted audiences.
  • Drafting user manuals, catalogues and other printed or digital Technical Documentation
  • Transforming technical input into readable, easy understandable content / topics with the right text and illustration mix for your target audience.
  • Creating the technical documentation in English
  • Managing creation process with internal or external technical writers / illustrators.
  • Collaborating closely with Offer Management, Offer Development, Project Management & Communications.
  • Planning & delivery of Technical Documentation, Technical videos, 3D Digital assets.
  • Ensuring quality, usability, safety compliance and corporate identity

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
  • Master's degree in English, preferably combined with Technology/Engineering degree (preferably Electrical/Electronics).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a technical writer in global technology company, aiming to grow into a Documentation Leader role.
  • Ability to explain complex, technically demanding products in easily understandable language, illustrations
  • Ability to plan, manage and control several parallel projects, experience in Project Management
  • Works well in a dynamic environment and can able to engage many stakeholders based across different locations and different time zones
  • Ability to manage projects simultaneously ensuring on-time, on-quality, on-budget delivery
  • Experience using InDesign and XML-based editor: Arbortext Editor preferred
  • Fluency in English, strong writing skills in English
  • Strong communicating and coordination skills
  • Passionate about delivering high quality, customer-centric, easy-to-use technical documentation
  • Positive and open attitude, flexibility.
  • Collaborative working style, team-player

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Bachelor's degree in technology/Engineering degree (preferably Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical).
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a technical writer in global technology company.
  • Ability to explain complex, technically demanding products in easily understandable language.
  • Experience working on authoring tools like Adobe InDesign, any XML-based editor [Arbortext Editor preferred].
  • Experience creating 2D/3D illustrations using CAD software like Adobe Illustrator, IsoDraw. etc.
  • Experience working with any of the CMS tools.
  • Ability to plan, manage and control several parallel projects.
  • Works well in a dynamic environment and should be able to engage many stakeholders based across different locations and different time zones.
  • Ability to deliver high quality, customer-centric, and easy-to-use technical documentation.
  • Fluency in English, strong content writing skills
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Positive, flexible and open attitude
