You will work as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with departments such as Offer Management, Industrialization, Quality, Services, and Global Supply Chain. Your primary responsibility will be to support the development process, ensuring our systems meet industry standards and customer expectations.
1. JOB OVERVIEW
As the R&D Lead for UPS Systems, you will be a key member of the R&D team, involved in the design and development of UPS systems. You will work in collaboration with the local R&D team to meet the objectives set by the Offer Management in terms of development cost, quality, and lead-time.
You will contribute to the performance optimization of the UPS System and work with R&D colleagues to ensure the qualification and reliability of the system. You will operate within a matrix organizational structure, participating in an agile model that involves regular cross-functional engagement, supporting product and system qualification.
The position requires a good understanding of power electronics technologies and significant experience in product development. You should be prepared to support the R&D team through various challenges, from requirement analysis to product development, production introduction, and customer satisfaction monitoring.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are essential.
2. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
ü Identify, communicate, and manage stakeholder's expectation.
ü Lead the R&D development process, including managing the R&D backlog, execution strategy, schedule, design quality, product costs, and development budgets, adhering to corporate R&D processes.
ü Work with the R&D team to ensure the product meets defined objectives.
ü Collaborate with Product Owners to understand product specifications, objectives, and goals, and assist in developing execution plans.

ü Assist in the research and validation of new or missing technologies for product development.
ü Coordinate with Project Managers to support the integration of R&D efforts into the overall project plan.
ü Engage with the local R&D organization and key sub-functions, such as System Architects and power electronics experts, to support product development success.
ü Support the industrialization team in transitioning from development to industrial production.
ü Coordinate with procurement to facilitate the procurement of samples and prototypes.
ü Collaborate with the cross-functional core team to address development process challenges.
ü Contribute to product performance testing and optimization to fulfill market demands.
ü Support intellectual property applications and product maintenance activities.
3. EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUD
Bachelor's degree or higher in power electronics engineering, power systems, or related fields.
4. WORK EXPEREINCE
ü A minimum of 5 years of development experience in power electronics or related fields, with at least 2-3 years in the development of UPS systems or high-power electronics products.
ü Experience in team or project management.
ü Familiarity with waterfall or agile product development processes.
ü Project management experience with a focus on R&D planning within a risk management/risk mitigation culture.
ü Candidates with experience in multinational corporations or international projects will be preferred.
5. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
ü Good understanding of power electronics technologies and power conversion systems.
ü Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
