The Opportunity

Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced, commercially driven Solution & Channel Sales Leader to accelerate growth across our Industrial Automation (IA) business in Australia.

The preferred location is Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne, however, we are open to considering exceptional candidates based anywhere in Australia.

This leadership role is responsible for driving profitable growth across Schneider Electric's Industrial Automation portfolio by leading a team of Solution Sales and Channel Sales professionals and leveraging strategic relationships with end users and channel partners.

Reporting to the IA Sales Director and as a member of the extended leadership team, you will develop and execute growth strategies that expand market share, strengthen channel partnerships, and position Schneider Electric as the preferred technology partner across key industries including Consumer Packaged Goods, Heavy Industries, Water & Wastewater, Infrastructure, and Manufacturing.

A key focus of this role will be building and embedding a strong new business hunting culture across the sales organisation. You will coach, mentor, and enable sales teams to identify, qualify, and win new strategic opportunities while helping customers realise the value of Schneider Electric's next-generation automation and digital technologies.

As a champion of Schneider Electric's open, software-defined automation vision, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating market adoption of EcoStruxure Automation Expert (EAE) and Foxboro Software Defined Automation (SDA). Through sales leadership, strategic customer engagement, and sales capability development, you will help customers modernise their OT architectures and unlock the benefits of interoperability, flexibility, innovation, and future-ready operations.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Sales Performance

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Solution Sales and Channel Sales professionals.
  • Drive sales growth, profitability, market share, pipeline development, and forecasting excellence across the Industrial Automation portfolio.
  • Support strategic pursuits and major opportunities through executive engagement and commercial leadership.

Growth & Business Development
  • Develop and execute growth strategies that expand Schneider Electric's presence across key industrial market segments.
  • Build executive-level relationships with strategic customers and industry stakeholders.
  • Increase customer adoption of open automation and software-defined automation solutions.

Channel & Partner Development
  • Develop and execute growth plans with System Integrators, OEMs, Distributors, EPCs, and Consultants.
  • Identify new routes to market and strategic partnerships that support growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with partners to drive demand generation, opportunity creation, and customer success.

Software Defined Automation & Digital Transformation
  • Champion Schneider Electric's Software Defined Automation strategy in the Pacific market.
  • Accelerate adoption of EcoStruxure Automation Expert and Foxboro SDA through sales leadership and customer engagement.
  • Align local sales execution with regional and global technology roadmaps and strategic initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Industry Sales Leaders, Pre-Sales, Segment Leaders, Marketing, and broader Schneider Electric sales teams to drive growth opportunities.
  • Develop targeted campaigns, customer engagement strategies, and market development initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends, customer priorities, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive position.


About You

You are a strategic and growth-oriented sales leader with a proven ability to drive commercial success in industrial automation, digital transformation, or related technology markets.

You possess a strong commercial mindset and understand how to balance strategic business development with operational sales execution. You thrive on developing people, building high-performing teams, and creating new growth opportunities across both direct and channel partner ecosystems.

Your ability to coach teams beyond traditional product selling towards consultative, outcome-based solution selling has consistently delivered strong business results. You are comfortable engaging with executive stakeholders and can clearly articulate the business value of automation, industrial software, digitalisation, and operational technology transformations.

Skills & Experience
  • Experience in Industrial Automation, Control Systems, Industrial Software, Digital Transformation, or related industrial technology markets.
  • Proven success leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Excellent commercial and contractual negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate value in the context of business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching teams to identify, qualify, and win new business opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation technologies including PLCs, DCS, VSDs, Industrial Software, IIoT, and Edge Computing.
  • Experience working with and developing channel partner ecosystems, including System Integrators, OEMs, and EPCs.
  • Experience leading complex solution sales engagements involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Understanding of Industry 4.0, industrial digitalisation, and software-defined automation concepts.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across a matrix organisation and collaborate with local, regional, and global teams.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
