Solution Architect - Strategic Accounts Sales, US Digital Power

Yesterday Boston, MA

Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Solution Architect as part of our Strategic Account Organization in the United States. Given the national scope of the role and associated travel expectations, preferred candidates will be based near a major airport with convenient access to domestic travel.

The Digital Power organization is looking for a Solution Architect to shape early design decisions by driving the technical design and specification of sophisticated power monitoring and control environments-with a credible, consultative point of view that turns ambiguity into integrated, multi-system solutions and deeper strategic account partnerships.

The Role

This isn't a role for someone looking to execute a defined playbook. The environments this role supports are moving fast-from advanced, precision-driven production operations where an interruption measured in seconds carries real cost, to highly regulated, life-critical facilities where continuity is a matter of safety and compliance, not just uptime. Infrastructure demands have outpaced the frameworks most organizations use to manage them, and the customers building and expanding these facilities are dealing with a level of operational complexity that goes well beyond traditional power management.

We're adding a Solution Architect with dedicated focus on these environments because the conversations happening at our most strategic accounts require someone who can walk in with a credible point of view, not just a product catalog. The right person will understand the environment well enough to reframe how a customer thinks about a problem before they've decided how to solve it.

This role reports directly to the Director of Strategic Accounts & Segments and works in close collaboration with the Digital Power Strategic Accounts commercial team. It's a nationally scoped position with significant customer-facing travel at roughly 50%, and the autonomy to manage your own priorities across a portfolio of segments that reward initiative.

What You'll Actually Do

The work centers on three things:

Shape the conversation before the RFP

Our most strategic accounts already have commercial relationships with Schneider Electric. Your job is to deepen those relationships by earning a seat at the table earlier, during the planning and design phases where the real decisions get made. You'll be working with both facilities and infrastructure leadership and the technology, quality, and compliance stakeholders who are increasingly influencing how these environments are built and operated.

Solve problems that don't have a clean answer yet

The facilities these customers operate are at a point where the operational boundaries between systems are blurring. Power, environmental controls, and digital infrastructure are no longer managed in isolation, and the customers who recognize this are looking for partners who can help them think through what that means. In environments where an outage can halt a production line or compromise the safety of the people who depend on it, vendors who can only quote equipment won't hold that conversation for long. You'll be developing technical solutions where the requirements are still evolving, often in collaboration with account executives, engineers, and cross-functional specialists across business units.

Build credibility that compounds

A meaningful part of this role is establishing your presence in the segment. You're building toward becoming someone customers and internal teams come to because of what you know, not just what you represent. That credibility gets built through the quality of the questions you ask, the solutions you recommend, and the long-term relationships you develop with specifiers, engineering teams, and infrastructure decision-makers.

Day to Day

  • Lead technical solution development for complex, multi-system power monitoring and control environments across mission-critical, highly regulated, and advanced production facilities
  • Engage directly with customer infrastructure and technology leadership to understand strategic objectives and shape solution approaches upstream of formal procurement processes
  • Develop proposals, system overviews, scope documentation, and commercial-ready solution packages in collaboration with account executives and engineering resources
  • Navigate ambiguous solutioning scenarios where customer requirements are still forming, bringing structure and a credible point of view rather than waiting for a defined spec
  • Serve as a connective resource across Schneider Electric's business units, ensuring that the right internal expertise is brought to bear at the right stage of each engagement
  • Maintain awareness of where these markets are heading, including infrastructure trends, evolving customer priorities, and the changing dynamics between operational, technology, and compliance stakeholders, and bring that perspective into customer conversations

What We're Looking For

There are a few things that will determine whether this role is the right fit:
  • You have at least five years of experience in the electrical industry, with meaningful exposure to power monitoring, control systems, or related infrastructure domains. You understand how these environments are designed and operated, not just at a conceptual level.
  • You're comfortable in rooms where the agenda isn't fully defined. Ambiguity doesn't slow you down. It's where you tend to do your best work.
  • You lead with questions and insight, not features and specifications. When you're in front of a customer, you're there to understand their problem and reframe it if necessary. Presenting a slide deck is the last resort, not the opening move.
  • You have enough familiarity with commercial dynamics to support a sales process without needing to own it. You know when to advance a conversation and when to hand off.
  • You can operate without a lot of day-to-day direction. You manage your own time, prioritize your own accounts, and take ownership of your segment without being asked.
  • Experience in or exposure to mission-critical, highly regulated, or advanced manufacturing environments is a genuine advantage. It's not a hard requirement, but the learning curve is real and these markets move quickly.
