Schneider Electric Digital Grid Services Team has an outstanding opportunity for a passionate/motivated individual to assume the role of Solution Architect in the United States (NAM). The essential responsibility of the Solution Architect is to ensure that projects utilizing the Schneider Electric suite of software and solutions are designed, developed, and deployed in an efficient and consistent manner minimizing cost and risk. Deployed solutions and implementations must meet the end-user business requirements.

Day to Day Responsibilities

Customer interactions for design and implementation of Schneider Electric's ArcFM Solution in utility and telecom customers along with coordination with internal SE teams to define an optimal solution for the customer requirements.
Responsibilities

  • Customer facing role leading the solution architecture, design and implementation of Schneider Electric's ArcFM solution for Utility geographic information systems.
  • Lead technical architecture, integrations, business requirements gathering and data modeling workshops and develop resulting documentation.
  • Work with project teams (engineering, consultant, customer and product teams) to define the best technical approach to meet customer business requirements using one or more Schneider Electric's ArcFM offerings.
  • Documentation of proposed customer solutions based on defined requirements, including data model schema definition, functional requirements, integrations.
  • Leverage Artificial Intelligence and other evolving technologies to improve efficiency and quality of solution design and deliverables.
  • Work directly with other groups within the Delivery organization to develop and validate proposed solutions and designs.
  • Lead solution design review sessions and obtain design approval from customers.
  • Facilitate and define the technology strategy for projects with Product and Architecture teams to ensure alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance to other members of the project team and delivery organization.
  • Prepare project analysis, design, functional and interface specification documentation.
  • Perform system, database, application, and network capacity planning for clients.
  • Develop and maintain any internal documentation to support the development and maintenance of group expertise of the utility business, workflows, and applicable technologies.
  • Keep track of evolving solution and product roadmaps.
  • Support solution sales coordinating the solution fitment with available offerings vs custom solution and level of effort estimates working with software development team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, engineering, or geography (or related field with computer emphasis)
  • 5+ years related work experience in software/systems development preferably in the Utility industry.
  • 3+ years of related experience in ArcGIS (Esri), utility network or geometric network.
  • Experience working with electric, gas, water, or telecom/fiber domains.
  • Experience designing and implementing Enterprise Software Solutions and Server-Side Services.
  • Experience designing and implementing System Integrations (EAM, WMS, ADMS, OMS, CIS preferred), Documentation, Testing & Installation of technical solutions.
  • Experience with Spatial and Non-Spatial database design.
  • Experience in one of the following architectural domains: Enterprise Systems, Data Design and Architecture, Integration Architecture, Solution Design, Business Architecture.
  • Proven capability in Software and System Development, System Integration, Documentation, Testing, Installation, Commissioning and Service Processes.
  • Experience in leading workshops with the customer to define the optimal solution for customer requirements.
  • Ability to travel domestically. About 25-35% travel may be expected.
Advantage Skills
  • Experience with Schneider Electric's ArcFM solution would be an advantage.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies (Azure or AWS).
  • Experience working with Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems, Linux, Networking, Web Servers, Diagnostic and Troubleshooting.
  • Experience developing end-user applications and interfaces with client-side programming languages (i.e., C#, JavaScript) and server-side programming languages (i.e., Python, PowerShell).
  • Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.

  • Strong analytical skills to understand customer problems to devise potential solutions.
