An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Process Automation business unit for a Software and Cloud Development Manager to join our delivery team in the UK, operating within the Global Delivery Organisation. As a Software Development Manager, you will be fully accountable for the delivery and servicing of our SCADA interface and driver software solutions. You will lead the Geo SCADA software development team, driving innovation and quality in SCX extensions and cloud-based solutions. This role combines technical leadership with strategic vision, ensuring robust software delivery and alignment with Schneider Electric's digital transformation goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Software Development Leadership: Oversee design, development, and delivery of high-quality Geo SCADA extensions and related software products.
- Cloud Architecture: Define and implement Azure-based architectures for customer projects and manage the SaaS Managed Service offering.
- DevSecOps Implementation: Champion automation, continuous integration, and secure development practices to optimize delivery timelines and product reliability.
- Engage in customer workshops, respond to technical tenders, and provide expert input for strategic bids in utilities (Water, Oil & Gas, Renewables).
- Manage the team productivity and utilisation whilst continually seeking revenue generating ideas for the PA organisation.
- Generate & implement ideas for cost reduction through automatic software testing, service, development efficiemcies and cloud based solutions.
- Line management responsibilities for your team of software and development engineers.
- Work with our software company AVEVA to understand future road maps for SCADA software and licencing. Ensure the strategy is aligned with SCX extensions and identified risks are mitigated.
- Colaborate with sales and tendering teams to review software requirements to enable SCADA deployment solutions whilst providing mitigations to potential risks.
- Developing partnerships with key customers and third parties.
- Travel for customer meetings to both UK and international locations as required by the assigned projects. International interactions are often virtual.
- Participation in company initiatives where your experience and expertise can add value to our continuous drive to be best in class
Skills and Experience:
We are looking for an experienced professional with proven success in delivering software solutions utomation projects that will include digital solutions to our external customers. The successful candidate will have strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with the motivation and determination to succeed in a fast paced and highly innovative environment.
