We are seeking a coop student to join our technology team for 4 (extensible to 8) months. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced Agile team environment and help us advance our cloud-based energy management and information systems.

The Coop student will be primarily responsible for coding and/or testing enterprise applications (backend and frontend) per client requirements.

What will you do?

  • Requirements analysis, design, implementation, unit testing, debugging and maintenance of our software applications
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
  • Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
  • Follow our agile software development process
  • Other duties as assigned

What qualifications will make you successful?

Essential
    • Currently pursuing studies in software engineering, computer science, or a related field
    • Knowledge of software development process and technologies
    • Experience with Web applications, programming languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS, HTML5, CSS3
    • Experience with cloud computing platform and services
    • Data modeling and database design experience.
    • Experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc) and API design for extensibility and portability
    • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, self-motivation and commitment to quality
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Team player is a MUST
    • Ability to learn quickly
    • Good problem solving, analytical and technical troubleshooting skills

Desirable

    • Basic understanding of software Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
    • Experience with working in distributed teams
    • Experience with version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket
    • Experience in Atlasian tools like Jira Software, Jira Service Desk, and Confluence
