Senior Tender Manager
Summary
This position is for a Tender Manager as part of a project execution team providing tender packages for electrical equipment and systems such as MV & LV switchgear, transformers, busway, and substation automation.
This person is responsible for the quality of solution offers, compliance to standards, and achieving the highest customer satisfaction.
He/She should show initiative in leading the tender from early bid preparation, customer negotiation, and handover to the project manager. Effective communication with middle to senior level internal management is required.
Key internal stakeholders include Sales Account Managers, Business Heads, Project Managers, Finance Business Partners, and functional leaders such as Logistics, SRM, and Service.
Primary Role
- Liaise with opportunity leaders and account managers to understand the opportunity requirements/scope/needs for tender and identify the equivalent Schneider solution offer.
- Ensure RFQ compliance with internal policy and process requirements.
- Coordinate with different factories for proper equipment/solution offerings.
- Perform detailed cost analysis based on target price, bid competitiveness, and value proposition.
- Secure tender approval and issue approved tenders to opportunity leaders within SLA.
- Manage bid clarifications and coordinate with SMEs to ensure timely closure of clarification points.
Background and Experience
- At least 12 years of relevant tendering experience dealing with various electrical equipment manufactured according to international standards.
- Strong background and experience in the construction industry in the area of electrical equipment and systems.
- Experience in project management is a plus.
- Strong communication, business management, and consulting engagement skills.
- Team player able to work effectively with customers and colleagues at all levels.
- Strong engineering skills.
- Independent, self-driven, and able to work with minimum guidance.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
Travel
- Based in Seoul, South Korea, with travel within and outside South Korea as required.
