The Role: Senior Procurement Engineer

The Senior Procurement Engineer - Electrical & Electronics (EE) is responsible for supplier management, productivity, and supply continuity initiatives for EE commodities supporting the SE Batam plant. The role drives cost competitiveness, supplier performance, risk management, and business continuity while partnering with Category Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, and R&D teams. The position serves as the key focal point for all EE commodity-related procurement activities, including supplier escalations, supply shortages, productivity programs, and sourcing strategy execution.

What will you do?

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for EE commodities aligned with business and plant objectives.
  • Lead annual productivity initiatives through COS, QVE, supplier rebalancing, commercial negotiations, e-auctions, localization, and dual sourcing.
  • Manage procurement activities for semiconductors, ICs, passive components, PCBs, PCBAs, connectors, sensors, electro-mechanical and power electronic components.
  • Assess, select, qualify, and develop strategic suppliers.
  • Lead supplier performance reviews focused on quality, delivery, cost, service, and sustainability.
  • Act as escalation point for critical supplier and material shortages.
  • Develop supply risk mitigation and business continuity plans.
  • Support NPI, localization, and product transfer projects.
  • Maintain productivity forecasts, dashboards, and savings reporting.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Global Category teams.

What qualifications will make you successful?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 5 years focused on Electrical & Electronics (EE) commodities.
  • Proven experience managing Electronic Components, PCB/PCBA, Semiconductors, Electro-Mechanical Components, Connectors, Sensors, and Power Electronics.
  • Experience working with global suppliers and EMS partners.
  • Strong track record in supplier negotiations, supplier development, and cost reduction programs.
  • Experience managing supply shortages, allocation situations, and business continuity planning.
  • Exposure to NPI, localization, and transfer projects is preferred.
