Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance and Control Engineer to ensure compliance with IEC 61439 standards in low-voltage (LV) switchgear and control gear assemblies. The role involves hands-on testing, auditing panel builders, delivering training, and driving process improvements to maintain high-quality manufacturing standards. This position requires strong expertise in LV panel verification, quality management systems (QMS), and IEC compliance.

Qualification : B.E. Electrical

Experience : 6-8 years

Key Deliverables / Key Responsibilities/Deliverables (Min 4 need to be filled in decreasing order of importance)

  • Conduct routine inspection of IEC 61439 panels at panel builder facilities, including in-process (manufacturing, wiring etc.) and final inspection (APFC, AHF, VFD, Soft Starter, PCC & MCC).
  • Perform QMS audits at panel builders to identify non-conformities, suggest corrective actions and ensure process traceability.
  • Provide training to panel builders on quality systems, IEC 61439 requirements, panel testing protocols, and best practices in LV assembly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse data and perform root cause analysis for product & process improvement.
  • Support panel builders with customer inspections/ interactions for LV panel inspection.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Min 5 years of experience in quality assurance/control within LV electrical panels or switchgear industry, with direct exposure to IEC 61439 testing and verification.
  • Certification in quality tools (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt, ISO 9001) preferred.

Key Skills and Competencies:
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of IEC 61439 standards (routine, type, and design verification testing); proficiency in LV components (MCCBs, ACBs, Relays, switchgear, busbars etc.); hands-on experience with electrical testing equipment (e.g., dielectric testers, temperature rise testers).
  • Quality Management: Expertise in QMS auditing, 8D problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Testing & Auditing: Skilled in on-site panel testing protocols, process audits, and non-conformance reporting.
  • Training & Communication: Ability to deliver technical training sessions; strong presentation and documentation skills for reports and SOPs.

Soft Skills:
  • Analytical mindset, attention to detail, ability to work independently at remote sites
  • Proficiency in MS Office, quality software (e.g., Minitab), and ERP systems.

Preferred:
  • Familiarity with surface finishing (e.g., powder coating, plating), industrial safety standards.
