Senior Manager - EXIM Controller

Reports To: CTC Leader

Experience Required: 8+ years in EXIM operations and regulatory compliance

Industry: Manufacturing is preferred

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Exim Controller to lead and manage all aspects of Export-Import (EXIM) operations, with a strong focus on Customs regulations, Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), and FEMA compliance applicable on an exporter of goods and services including SEZ and EHTP unit. The ideal candidate will ensure full operational regulatory compliance, drive governance frameworks, and act as the key liaison with government authorities and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Regulatory Compliance & Governance applicable on exports and import under different laws like FEMA, Customs, FTP, SEZ, EHPT, RBI regulations

- Ensure 100% compliance with Customs Act, FTP, and FEMA regulations.

- Monitor and implement changes in EXIM-related laws and policies.

- Develop and maintain SOPs for EXIM operations and compliance governance.

- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments related to EXIM activities.

- Ensure compliance with SEZ and EHTP-specific regulatory requirements.

Customs & DGFT

- Operational knowledge of applicable provisions on exports and import under Customs & DGFT.

- Close monitoring of different benefits available under customs / DGFT like duty drawback, advance authorizations, EPCG, and other DGFT schemes.

- Coordinate with Customs, DGFT, RBI, and other regulatory bodies wherever required.

- Handle SEZ and EHTP documentation, bonding, de-bonding and other applicable procedures.

FEMA & RBI Compliance

- Ensure adherence to FEMA guidelines for cross-border transactions.

- Manage documentation and reporting for inward/outward remittances, BoE closures, and foreign currency transactions, EDPMS, IDMPS etc..

- Liaise with banks and consultants for FEMA-related filings and clarifications wherever applicable and required.

Checks and balances on cross border transactions

- Conduct regular Inspection of cross-border transactions to identify risks or non-compliance issues

- Mitigation plans for risk identified

Laisoning with relevant authorities

- Laisoning with relevant authorities including submitting replies, communication as and when required and applicable

Ensuring documentation & Record-Keeping as required for EXIM transactions and applicable under aforementioned

Stakeholder Management

- Collaborate with internal teams (CHA, Finance, Legal, SCM, business, CTC, GTO-Customs, Treasury, export control etc.) to ensure smooth EXIM operations.

- Train and guide teams on EXIM compliance and best practices.

- Reporting and MIS for management.

Training and Awareness

- Conduct training sessions for employees on compliances under Customs, FTP and FEMA.

- Stay updated with changes in FEMA regulations and ensure the organization remains compliant.

Qualifications & Skills

- Postgraduate in Commerce /Law / International Trade / CA / CWA; additional certifications in EXIM or FEMA preferred.
