Senior Engineering Project Lead

Join us as a Senior Engineering Project Lead! The Senior Engineering Project Lead is responsible for all the engineering efforts for Public and Private Sector projects. The SEPL will direct engineering in all phases of the project from conception, through development and pricing, into contract and construction documents, in construction administration, and for warranty and post-warranty Client Services.

What will you do?

  • Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership to a team of design engineers, including setting clear expectations, fostering a collaborative environment, and facilitating professional growth and development.
  • Direct a team of in-house and 3 rd party engineers in all phases of development of regional Sustainability Business projects. Duties include:
    • Conducting field investigation and site surveys
    • Evaluating building MEP systems and designing effective solutions to accomplish the goals and objectives of the projects
    • Preparing scope narratives, sketches, plans, specifications, and study reports of MEP systems.
    • Coordinating with other engineering disciplines,
    • Completing construction administration
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards. Coordinate project priorities, assign tasks, and monitor progress to ensure successful execution.
  • Design Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive design strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design engineering to drive innovation.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of design engineering principles and methodologies. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team, resolving complex technical challenges, and promoting design excellence. Maintain a familiarity with relevant regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product management, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration of design activities throughout the product development lifecycle. Foster effective communication and collaboration across teams to drive successful product launches.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, industry guidelines, and internal policies throughout the design process.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of design activities, including design specifications, test plans, and project reports. Provide regular progress reports and updates to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

What qualifications will make you successful?
  • Four-year Mechanical, Electrical or Architectural Engineering degree
  • Professional Engineer registration
  • Minimum 10 years relevant work experience
  • Advanced understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems and energy use for a variety of building types including K-12 schools, university facilities and housing, correctional facilities, medical facilities, etc.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills including, but not limited to, the ability to listen effectively and solicit input from others
  • Advanced understanding of the design, specification and operation of mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
  • Proficiency with engineering calculations for chosen engineering discipline.
    • Mechanical - loads, ventilation, psychrometric and air and water head pressure
    • Electrical - NEC required calculation, short circuit, arc flash
  • Advanced understanding of International Building Council codes and applicable area codes and related mechanical and electrical standards and guidelines.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 117,600 - USD 176,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
