Senior Digital Product Owner II

Environment and Product Context
As part of Schneider Electric's Energy Management - Channel Partner Software, Design League R&D team in India, the Product Owner will lead product ownership for EcoSet Design. The solution helps users design electrical networks for new commercial and industrial buildings, perform certified sizing and calculation, select Schneider Electric equipment, estimate price and panel space, and generate comprehensive specifications and reports.
The role works at the intersection of customer needs, electrical-domain expertise and software engineering. The Product Owner collaborates closely with Product Management, UI/UX, Electrical SMEs, Architects, Developers, QA and globally distributed stakeholders to translate business and electrical workflows into high-quality, easy-to-use software capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Scrum team as Product Owner and provide clear product direction throughout Program Increments and sprints.
• Partner with the Product Manager to understand product strategy, customer segments, market priorities and measurable outcomes for EcoSet Design.
• Own, prioritize and continuously refine the product backlog, balancing customer value, electrical-domain needs, quality, technical debt and delivery capacity.
• Translate customer journeys and electrical-design workflows into features, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications and testable business rules.
• Define requirements for network calculation, electrical-network complexity, standards compliance, equipment selection, selectivity, price estimation, panel-space estimation, specifications and reports.
• Work closely with Electrical SMEs to ensure accurate interpretation of LV and relevant MV concepts, device characteristics, sizing rules, coordination logic and standards.
• Ensure that requirements support the needs of small and medium design firms, local and regional contractors, and electricians working on larger projects.
• Drive a simple and intuitive user experience suited to users who may use the product only periodically and should require minimal training.
• Collaborate with UI/UX to validate user journeys, interaction models, warning and guidance messages, and usability of electrical engineering workflows.

• Work with Architects and Technical Leads to align functional priorities, solution constraints, non-functional requirements, technical debt and platform evolution.
• Collaborate with QA and Electrical SMEs to define scenario-based acceptance criteria, reference cases, calculation evidence and release-readiness expectations.
• Independently accept completed stories only after agreed functional, electrical-domain and quality criteria are demonstrated.
• Plan sprint- and PI-level releases, manage dependencies and represent the product in backlog refinement, planning, reviews, demonstrations, Definition of Done reviews and stage gates.
• Manage localization and country-specific requirements, including standards, terminology, units, catalogs and supported engineering practices.
• Engage customers and internal stakeholders to validate problems, collect feedback, assess value and incorporate learning into the roadmap and backlog.
• Communicate product decisions, priorities, progress, risks and trade-offs transparently across business, engineering and governance stakeholders.

Knowledge and Skills - Required

Software Product Ownership and Delivery
• Proven experience as a Product Owner
• Strong ability to convert product strategy and customer problems into clear features, user stories, acceptance criteria and functional requirements.
• Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum delivery, backlog management, sprint planning, PI planning, reviews and release planning.
• Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps or comparable product and engineering collaboration tools.
• Good understanding of web applications, REST APIs, cloud platforms, software testing, DevOps and release processes.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers, Electrical SMEs, Architects, Developers, QA Engineers, UI/UX teams and global stakeholders.
• Data-informed prioritization capability, including assessment of customer value, business impact, delivery effort, risk and dependencies.
Electrical Design and Domain Expertise
• Excellent practical knowledge of Low Voltage electrical products, electrical distribution systems and building electrical-design workflows; relevant Medium Voltage knowledge is an advantage.
• Ability to understand network architecture, load definition, sizing, protection, selectivity or coordination, standards compliance and equipment selection in the context of electrical design software.
• Ability to interpret product catalogs, technical data sheets, device ratings, engineering calculations, selection rules and expected functional behavior.
• Ability to map and compare technical characteristics where units, standards, terminology or manufacturer definitions differ.
• Ability to convert electrical-domain concepts into software behavior, business rules, user guidance, acceptance criteria and realistic test scenarios.
• Familiarity with electrical design, calculation, sizing, configuration, CAD or product-selection applications is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of standards such as IEC, NFC 15-100 and REBT, and how standards influence electrical-design software workflows, is highly desirable.
• Understanding of Schneider Electric LV equipment and selection workflows is a strong advantage.

Customer and User Experience Orientation
• Deep customer empathy for design firms, contractors and electricians who need fast, dependable and execution-ready outputs.
• Ability to simplify technically complex workflows without compromising electrical correctness or required standards compliance.
• Ability to make scope decisions for a focused, intuitive product experience with limited menus and options.
• Clear written and verbal communication, strong facilitation skills and the ability to influence in a matrix organization.

• A prioritized and implementation-ready backlog clearly connected to EcoSet Design customer outcomes and product strategy.
• Accurate translation of electrical workflows and standards into usable, testable software requirements.
• An intuitive product experience that helps periodic users complete standard projects with minimal training.
• Predictable delivery with clear acceptance criteria, strong cross-functional alignment and robust release readiness.
• Measurable improvement in partner productivity, quality of design outputs and adoption of Schneider Electric equipment-selection workflows.

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of overall professional experience, preferably in software product development, electrical engineering software or a software-enabled electrical domain.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Application Engineering, Product Specialization or an equivalent role supporting software delivery.
• Demonstrated hands-on expertise in LV electrical products, distribution systems and electrical design workflows is mandatory, irrespective of academic specialization.
• Prior experience delivering web-based, cloud-enabled or engineering software products with Agile teams is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams and multiple country or standards contexts is preferred.
