Application Engineer - Design Simulation

Digital Engineering and Tech Debt (DE&TD) Team is looking for a technical expert in the design simulation industry. DE&TD is a Schneider transversal department focusing on R&D applications used in the company. The position can apply expertise to setup services on simulation tools, methods, processes, and data with Schneider R&D global wide users.

This role will be based in our Bangalore, India office.

The Design Simulation Application Engineer is accountable for the health, compliance, and performance of one or more Design Simulation tools (examples: Ansys Mechanical, Ansys Fluent, Altair HyperWorks suite, Autodesk Moldflow, SPDM Minerva, etc.).

What will you do?

    • Own and oversee the full application lifecycle, from deployment through retirement.
    • Ensure the availability, performance, security, and compliance of assigned applications.
    • Ensure compliance with Schneider Electric security, certification, data-protection policies and practices.
    • Maintain strong awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies, including AI-driven simulation capabilities and intelligent features, to drive innovation, automation, and data-informed decision-making.

    Version and upgrade management
    • Execute upgrades, deployments, configuration changes, and system integrations.
    • Lead SCCM packaging and deployment processes to ensure timely delivery and quality assurance.
    • Create SCCM packages and conduct initial checks, including vulnerability scans.
    • Conduct UAT testing, beta testing, and validation to confirm that new simulation tool releases are compatible with existing systems.
    • Monitor post-deployment stability and drive resolution for issues identified in new releases.
      License Management and Usage Monitoring
      • Monitor simulation tool performance and ensure feature functionality, availability, SLAs, and operational KPIs.
      • Investigate license denials to understand root causes, escalating to vendors when required.

User and Access management
  • Perform user onboarding and offboarding, access management, and license support in accordance with defined
  • Operational Excellence
    • Perform day-to-day IT Owner responsibilities to ensure operational stability and service quality.
    • Provide L2/L3 application support and ensure accurate incident and request tracking in ServiceNow.
    • Ensure compliance with certification and cybersecurity requirements.
    • Communicate results, issues and solutions to stakeholders and users.
    Identify ways to improve operations and use AI solutions to monitor application performance, availability and drive continuous optimization

    What qualifications will make you successful?
      • Knowledge of CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) tools.
      • Familiarity with Advanced Design Simulation solutions, Digital Twin and Digital Thread concepts and architectures.
      • Exposure to AI-enabled simulation, advanced analytics, and AI-powered engineering workflows (e.g., copilots, semantic search, LLM-based assistants).
      • Knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance, and certification standards in enterprise IT environments is a plus
      • Familiarity with Agile product management practices.
      Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and activities to meet deadlines
