The Opportunity:
As the world leader in energy procurement & compliance services with over 35 years' experience of helping clients reduce their energy spend & improving energy efficiency. Our Melbourne CBD-based Energy and Sustainability Services division is seeking an Energy Procurement Senior Analyst to work on the Sourcing team that serves Australia and New Zealand sites to manage the many facets of the procurement process to meet client goals and contribute to the continued energy transition. Service coverage will also include Japan and Singapore, working with regional teams to orchestrate Australia energy market service capabilities.

Day to Day Responsibility:
As the Senior Analyst you will play an integral part in a well establish team of professionals who pride themselves on their positive impact and contribution to an inclusive work environment. You will be responsible for running RFP processes for electricity and gas supply contracts, network analysis, supporting budgets, understanding markets, training others, documentation processes and driving transformation. You will be confident to present to clients, online and in person (when appropriate). As the subject matter expert, you will mentor your team members and serve as a support for them.
Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to;
- Engage with Client Managers and other internal teams to deliver an exceptional level of service to our clients.
- Engage with clients to discuss tender results and recommendations
- Identify and communicate opportunities to reduce clients' energy spend through tendering, tariff analyses, meter amalgamation, advanced procurement strategies, etc.
- Manage pre-tender activities through collecting interval data, invoices, and contracts.
- Manage the tendering, analysis and subsequent contract award and placement processes relating to complex energy supply contracts.
- Negotiate and utilise quantitative and qualitative techniques to deliver optimal contract energy supply terms and prices for our clients through regular interaction with energy retailers.
- Analyse network tariffs and recommend changes to reduce clients' network costs.
- Own and develop/enhance business processes to the highest standards of efficiency, control and accuracy.
- Innovate processes or services to digitise & automate processes, improve effectiveness and efficiency, and improve the client experience.
- Develop & deliver accurate & timely reports, responding to client queries as required; proactively communicate with internal and external clients.
- Utilise and contribute to development of internal Schneider Electric procurement platforms, ensuring development suits local needs and establishing/implementing procedures which utilise the proprietary systems.
Short listing for these opportunities will require the following skills, attribute and qualifications;
- Applicants with tertiary qualification in Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Accounting/Finance are preferred.
- 3-5 years energy procurement or energy analytics experience preferable
- Handling large data sets
- Procurement experience within the energy industry either at a supplier or energy consultancy will be highly regarded.
- Advanced MS-Excel skills are essential with the ability to identify, analyse, and comprehend information from numerous sources, and communicate pertinent information to the appropriate parties.
- Demonstrable analytical ability with a sharp eye for numerical detail is essential, as is the ability to understand and discuss potential financial outcomes.
- Proven ability to remain focused in a complex and fluid environment whilst delivering tasks accurately and on time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer-focused and good stakeholder management skills.
- Adaptable, resilient and focused, capable of taking ownership and delivering desirable outcomes within a complex and changing environment whilst remaining an integral part of a close-knit and friendly team.
