Repair Technician
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $52 ,000 - $70 ,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Position Summary
The Service and Repair Technician role is a key individual contributor to the Services team at Motivair. This position is responsible for maintaining Service Spare Parts Inventory, tracking Customer Equipment repair and returns, fault isolation, repair, and ensuring capture of supplier Warranty Credits as applicable. This technical role contributes to the group's mission by handling all installation and support-related Equipment/Component availability and fulfillment, in collaboration with the Supply Chain and Logistics teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors Customer Service requests for repair and return materials/components.
- Troubleshoots and repairs equipment returned from the field.
- Contributes to ensure timely shipment of Service Parts orders.
- Support our Service Spares inventory improvement initiative.
- Inventory current Service Spares.
- Identify Gaps for critical components.
- Executes regular inventory cycle counts to identify gaps between what Acumatica indicates and what is physically in Service Spares inventory.
- Monitors auto-ordering function in Acumatica is setup for Service Spares.
- Engages with Product Development/Engineering personnel, as needed, to ensure proper failure analysis (FA) and accurate root cause analysis (RCA) has been performed.
- Drives rapid response to Service non-conformance (NC) turnarounds for the QMS program.
- Documents, in detail, technical findings within engineering and support tools.
- Presents product defect analysis to engineering and management personnel.
- Categorizes FAs to enable defect analysis and trending.
- Updates Service Cases within the ERP/CRM tool.
- Working with Planning function, identifies sources and availability of non-standard Motivair parts/components/materials/tools.
- Follows up with customers to ensure issues are resolved.
- Responds to field technician requests in a timely and accurate manner via phone, email, or chat.
- Serves as a resource for the 24/7 Technical Support On-call Rotation.
- Putting together Sub-Assemblies per work instructions for service inventory needs
- Other duties as directed include providing Technical Support on a flex basis, depending on the team's workload.

Who will you report to?
You will report to the Service Operations Manager. This role is an onsite position. You are required to report to the Amherst, NY facility 5 days a week, Monday - Friday from 7 am EST - 4 pm EST.
Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent, is required.
- Two-year technical certification/degree from an accredited institution preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in equipment repair, RMA coordination, technical support or field service is desired.
- A combination of one or more of the above; to ensure the individual will be successful in performing the duties described.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to multitask a must.
- Basic computer skills and abilities, including MS Office Suite, are required.
- Familiarity of ERP/CRM systems a plus.
- Knowledge of and experience with quality management systems (QMS) and methodologies such as Six Sigma and ISO standards a plus.
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical equipment and component concepts.
- Ability to understand technical documentation.
- General understanding of electrical and mechanical tools.
- Knowledge of basic service/support operations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills are required.
- Ability to deescalate situations with technicians, Supply Chain colleagues and other personnel.
Physical Requirements/Abilities
- Combination of sitting in office environment and standing in production/warehouse environments.
- Frequent walking between office, production assembly and test, and storage areas.
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. to chest level.
