Quality Engineer/Specialist
The Quality Specialist / Engineer is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the Ecofit Canada Quality Management System to support customer satisfaction and business performance.
The role ensures compliance with ISO 9001:2015, N299, SPS, and other applicable requirements, while embedding prevention‑based quality practices across projects, manufacturing, suppliers, and field activities.
This position proactively partners with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Field Services to translate customer requirements into robust processes, reduce Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), and drive sustainable, measurable improvements.
Key Responsibilities
The Quality Specialist / Engineer is accountable for:
- Supporting project teams on Quality Assurance throughout the full project lifecycle
- Reducing CoPQ and Non‑Quality Cost through defect prevention, yield improvement, and rework elimination
- Owning and influencing Process Control Plans, PFMEA, SPC, control charts, layered audits, and risk mitigation activities
- Partnering with Operations to embed quality ownership at the line/process level using Short Interval Management and daily performance reviews
- Leading process, product, internal, external, customer, and supplier audits (ISO 9001:2015 & N299), ensuring findings result in real improvements
- Supporting new product and process introductions to ensure quality is designed‑in, not inspected‑in
- Executing PPEP processes and ensuring supplier quality compliance
- Managing operational procedures and conducting compliance spot checks across departments
- Driving structured problem solving using 5W's, 8D, A3, DMAIC, with a strong focus on permanent corrective actions
- Managing customer complaints, warranty cases, and post‑shipment quality issues
- Leading Quality Management Reviews, customer surveys, analytics, and reporting against defined targets
- Coordinating with Schneider Electric plants to resolve parts and product quality issues
- Conducting Field Quality Audits to verify installations comply with latest engineering standards and guidelines
- Leading end‑to‑end quality system transformation, including standardization and prevention across manufacturing lines

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Quality, or equivalent)
- 3+ years' experience in manufacturing quality, process improvement, or operational excellence
Technical & Quality Expertise
- Strong proficiency in ISO 9001:2015; familiar with ISO 14001 & 45001
- CSA N299 compliance knowledge and experience
- Hands‑on expertise in PFMEA, Control Plans, SPS, audits, root cause & corrective action systems
- Proven experience reducing defects, scrap, rework, or customer complaints through prevention
- Internal Auditor certification and experience is required, ASQ Certification is an asset
- Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience desirable
Leadership & Ways of Working
- Ability to lead initiatives, influence cross‑functional teams, and execute improvement strategies
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and influencing skills in a multicultural environment
- Comfortable operating on the shop floor and in the field-not limited to reports and dashboards
- Project management capability with an autonomous, entrepreneurial mindset
Languages
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); French is an asset
The compensation range for this full-time position, which includes base pay and incentive, is 85,000 - $95,000 for candidates who are Ontario residents. Our salary ranges are determined by including roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
