Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring operational excellence across quality systems, audits, supplier performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role drives compliance with global standards, leads risk management activities, strengthens supplier partnerships, and provides data-driven insights to support strategic decisions. The position requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels and with external stakeholders.
What will you do:
Quality Governance & Audit Management
- Lead internal and external audits to ensure adherence to corporate and global quality standards.
- Develop, implement, and monitor audit protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality governance frameworks.
- Ensure continuous compliance with regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
Continuous Improvement & Lean Six Sigma
- Apply DMAIC, 8D, A3, KATA, and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Facilitate kaizen events and drive initiatives that eliminate waste, optimize processes, and improve performance.
- Identify opportunities to integrate Lean principles into daily operations.
Root Cause Analysis & Problem-Solving
- Lead investigations for quality issues, delivery complaints, and process deviations.
- Use data-based root cause analysis tools to implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor the sustainability of improvements and escalate systemic issues when necessary.
PFMEA, Risk Management & ISO Compliance
- Develop and maintain PFMEA documents, control plans, and standardized work instructions.
- Assess, validate, and mitigate operational risks through robust risk management methodologies.
- Support site readiness and compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001 or others as applicable).
Supplier Quality Management
- Lead supplier performance reviews and manage corrective action follow-ups.
- Track top offender issues, ensure supplier adherence to quality golden rules, and accountability .
- Collaborate with procurement and supplier teams to enhance incoming quality and reduce defects.
Data Analytics & Performance Reporting
- Track, analyze, and interpret key quality metrics (DCR, PPMMS, CoPQ, audit trends, etc.).
- Prepare dashboards and executive-level presentations to report performance and highlight action plans.
- Use data to drive strategic decisions and forecast quality risks or trends
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Supervise and develop quality auditors and team members across shifts.
- Coach associates, supervisors, and cross-functional teams on quality processes.
- Partner with operations, logistics, engineering, and supplier teams to meet site and customer objectives.
Customer Satisfaction & Communication Excellence
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding quality topics.
- Ensure timely, transparent communication across shifts and departments.
- Proactively resolve customer complaints, improve feedback loops, and maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. What will make you successful:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, Operations, or a related field is required.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in quality engineering, compliance, audits, or logistics environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with PFMEA, risk assessments, ISO systems, and supplier quality processes.
- SAP, BFO and Manhattan knowledge is desirable
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and reporting platforms (Power BI, Excel, etc.).
