What do you get to do in this position?

  • The Quality Engineering role aims to transform the Columbia Missouri US Plant into a highly customer-oriented organization, delivering premium quality and service to exceed customer expectations.
  • Lead relevant quality programs and methods such as 8D, Lean Six Sigma, Quality Fundamentals, Digital Quality, and customer interaction to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Directly manage critical issues escalated by customers, or line of business. Utilize problem-solving tools such as 8D, KATA QRCI, and Six Sigma to understand root causes, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead review, development, and implementation of Quality Fundamentals, PFMEA, process control plans, SPC and poka-yoke opportunities.
  • Lead continuous process improvement impacting customer returns, scrap, and FPY.
  • Interface with external customers to better understand their expectations and concerns regarding product concerns, responsible for investigations, customer follow-up, and ultimate customer satisfaction.
  • Interface heavily with Technical Antennas, manufacturing hourly and salaried support personnel, and external corporate engineering, quality, and supplier quality resources.
  • Support new product introductions and supplier development activities relating to Columbia components.
  • Support the ITP process with the main goal of achieving PPAP IG with zero blocking points. The production process is established to efficiently produce quality products and/or parts. Verification and validation results of parts and products demonstrate production quality.
  • Benchmark with other Schneider entities to align and deploy projects utilizing digital technology in the process robustness.

This job might be for you if:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven expertise in structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Six Sigma)
  • Strong knowledge of quality and lean tools such as PFMEA, SPC, control plans, VSM, and 5S
  • Experience driving process improvements, including scrap reduction and cost optimization initiatives
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing systems (e.g., SAP - BOMs, routings, production versions)
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and resolve supplier quality issues
  • Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing floor teams and stakeholders
  • Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills
  • Experience interacting with customers and handling quality-related concerns

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 86,400 - USD 129,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
