The Role
We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Project Manager (PM) to join our team in Malaysia and participate in the successful delivery of our Digital Grid product portfolio across the APAC region.
Reporting to the APAC PMO Leader, this role combines project delivery leadership with strong financial governance and performance management responsibilities. The PM will support and or oversee multiple programs and projects, ensuring effective planning, execution, and control of scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
The ideal candidate brings a balanced profile of project management expertise and financial acumen, with proven experience supporting multi-country programs, working with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with PMO standards and governance frameworks.
What will you do?
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of small to medium-sized projects, including upgrades, variation orders, and maintenance initiatives across the APAC region, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets.
- Drive project financial management, including budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis, ensuring strong financial discipline across project lifecycles.
- Monitor overall project performance, proactively identifying risks, issues, and dependencies, and implementing mitigation and corrective actions.
- Support program-level governance by maintaining accurate reporting, financial tracking, KPI dashboards, and project documentation.
- Plan and coordinate project activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and risk assessment, in collaboration with senior project leaders during pre-sales and execution phases.
- Act as a key liaison between cross-functional teams (engineering, finance, legal, and commercial teams) to ensure alignment and timely delivery of project objectives.
- Ensure adherence to PMO standards, governance frameworks, and reporting requirements across all assigned projects.
- Support tender and bid activities by contributing to cost models, total cost of ownership (TCO), cash flow projections, and delivery planning.

What are the key skills & qualifications we are looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Project Management. MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- 5 years of experience in project environments, including at least 3 years in project financial management or controlling within complex programs.
- Proven experience managing project finances, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting in multi-country or regional projects.
- Exposure to industries such as utilities, energy, or industrial software is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies (PMI/PMP, PRINCE2, Agile). Certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Experience supporting tender/bid processes and contributing to cost and schedule estimation.
- Proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Office 365, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural, and dynamic environment with flexibility for travel when required.
