Product Data Engineer

The Product Data Engineer is the technical product-data preparation, classification, and reconciliation owner supporting the NAM prefabricated engineering workflow. The Product Data Engineer ensures that part requests are correctly classified, cross-referenced against PDM and controlled internal libraries, supported by complete metadata, and prepared for creation or update through the approved PDM process.

The Product Data Engineer reports to the Engineering Systems Manager and works closely with the Systems Analyst, Project Engineers, TSE, Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing/Methods, and Supply Chain stakeholders. The role prepares and controls loader- ready product data, supports part reuse and duplicate prevention, manages unique/common part synchronization, and provides the data foundation needed for CAD, PBOM, MBOM, and downstream execution.

What Success Looks Like:

Success in this role enables Prefab NAM to submit complete, correctly classified, reusable, and loader-ready product data with reduced rework. PDM requests move through the workflow with fewer missing fields, fewer duplicate records, clearer lifecycle status, and improved readiness for CAD association, PBOM development, and manufacturing handoff.

This role is a full-time position.

Responsibilities Include:

• Acknowledge product-data handoffs and cross-reference PDM and controlled internal libraries.

• Determine whether requested parts already exist and can be reused or updated.

• Classify parts as purchased, catalog, engineered, or project-specific using approved rules.

• Prepare catalog or engineered part-record information when a suitable record does not exist.

• Complete and validate PDM loader files, metadata, naming, and required fields.

• Maintain controlled internal product-data records and synchronize unique/common part information.

• Coordinate with TSE for PDM part creation or updates.

• Coordinate with Mechanical Engineering and SMEs for CAD and specification readiness.

• Support Project Engineers with loader-ready data and PBOM readiness.

• Support missing-field resolution by routing issues to the correct source owner.

• Provide weekly product-data KPIs, queue status, aging, and blocker information.

• Support controlled workflow progression after independent review and release acceptance.

• Maintain applicable product-data procedures, work instructions, and metadata rules.

Minimum Required Qualifications and Skills:

• 3-5 years of experience

• Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

• 3D CAD experience (Creo Preferred)

• P D M and PLM Management (Windchill Preferred)

• Strong urge to make an impact and improvement

• Strong communication and agility/adaptability

• Willingness to learn new tools, skills, and workflows

• Attention to Detail and Process Orientation

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 86,400 - USD 129,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
