Process Automation Technical Sales Consultant - Utilities

Mission:

You will lead the design and implementation of advanced industrial automation solutions for Utilities operations.

This role requires deep technical expertise in process automation, digital transformation, and integration of control systems, with a strong focus on optimizing efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in water infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop end-to-end automation architectures leveraging platforms such as EcoStruxure and AVEVA for storage and treatment plants, pumping stations, and distribution networks.
    • Design and development of end-to-end architectures to maximise full Schneider portfolio
    • Understand competitor landscape and potential compatibilities within installed base
    • Ensure digital continuity from engineering design (e.g., P&ID diagrams) through operations and maintenance phases.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to utilities companies and system integrators, translating business needs into technical solutions.
    • Conduct workshops and technical presentations to demonstrate value propositions for automation and remote operations.
    • Define integration strategies for SCADA, PLCs, and IoT systems within water and utility company networks.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and cybersecurity best practices.
    • Work closely with End users and system integrators to deliver optimised solutions.
    • Support sales teams with technical expertise during bid and proposal phases.
    • Achieve assigned sales targets for services and solutions within the designated segment.

Skills & Experience:

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong background in industrial automation platforms (e.g., Modicon, EcoStruxure Automation Expert, AVEVA System Platform).
    • Experience with SCADA systems, PLC programming, and network architectures.
    • Proven experience in water & Utility company operations, either as a lead engineer for an end user or a system integrator delivering automation projects.
    • Hands-on experience in designing and commissioning automation solutions for pumping stations, treatment plants, and remote water networks.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to lead technical discussions and influence decision-making.
  • Preferred:
    • Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives, cybersecurity, and sustainability frameworks.
    • Certifications in industrial automation or utility industry standards.
