For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $160,800 - $241,200 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Mission:

Deliver great quality outcome to our customers, bringing technical expertise and continuously challenging on design practices to get robust, reliable and easy to use software/firmware and systems. Develop and promote methods & tools to deliver the best customer experience in a globally consistent manner. Deliver exceptional quality outcomes for our customers by leading system-level and functional testing for the Process Automation offers.

Organization structure: This position reports to the VP, Customer Satisfaction and Quality for Process Automation. There are a combination of direct reports and managing partners.

What will you do?

  • Manage SW Quality for the Process Automation within Industrial Automation
  • Managing the Process Automation Validation team & Test Laboratories (several sites & several countries)
  • Providing the overall test strategy for programs & projects
  • Managing the Validation team:
  • Managing overall resources of the Validation team.
  • Leading the team managers with regards to departmental strategy, test strategies and objectives.
  • Ensure the team size being at an adequate level in terms of capacity and competency (standards and regulations, development processes, tools and methods, ...)
  • Ensure proper, future oriented development of teams and individuals (size, roles, sites, ...).
  • Plan and Assign resources to OCP/OLM projects in PMP and PEP.
  • Ensure compliance with local and global Health & Safety regulations in all teams and at all locations
  • Representation of Validation in front of internal and external customers
  • Best practice sharing in different levels of SE organization on know-how, processes, tools and methods

Plan, justify and control the Validation budget for all maintenance and project related topics for cost centers in all related locations (NAM, India, UK)
  • Signing authority as described in the DoA chart
  • Drive continuous efficiency increase in all departmental areas
  • Manage external partnerships


In collaboration with a network of experts including but not limited to Research & Development (R&D) and Quality Leaders
  • Strengthen / Enforce the SW development process from a quality perspective.
  • Deploy the SW Quality Fundamentals to all offers within the Line of Business (LoB).
  • Identify, develop and deploy innovative design practices to strengthen robust SW and FW design, tackling the full customer experience, to avoid bug creation and strengthen bug detection.
  • Ensure team is building relevant and optimized test strategies, considering customers use cases & applications.
  • Establish metrics and dashboards, tracking progress to ensure teams are delivering high quality SW and FW.Work with SW and Systems Architects to ensure testing, logging, and debugging methods are included in SW/Systems Architecture.
  • Ensure teams are performing technical risk assessments.
  • Drive creation and improvements to continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines including the implementation of Qualimetry tools across the division.
  • Drive resolution and corrective action of open customer issues.
  • Ensure technical debt and bugs are being prioritized and allocated to the product backlog.
  • Representing SW Quality, participate as a key stakeholder in release readiness events.
  • Get continuously up to date on quality practices with internal and external benchmark of best-in-class software development companies.
  • Promote the implementation of SW quality across the LoB, worldwide, on new offers development, using Agile model, and on legacy offers requiring upgrades.
  • Bring consistency and coaching in quality methods and tools in project development, develop expertise in all functions involved on SW development & validation (R&D, marketing, and quality teams).
  • Drive the teams to use data as the foundation, creating dashboards from metrics to report progress and learnings, enabling project decisions.
  • Close the loop between field data and actions for development teams to improve overall offer quality.
  • Train and mentor SW Quality leaders.
  • Hire SW Quality Lead/Individual Contributors to support the LoB.
  • Report up to executive leadership on SW Quality of all offers within the LoB.

  • Innovative, analytical approach to solving complex problems and performing troubleshooting.
  • Track record of leading complex projects in a hands-on way and mentoring others in test automation design and implementation.
  • Capable of understanding and documenting incidents. Effectively manage incident information and status information to improve product and process.
  • Experience with complex Software Systems (communication networks, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud applications, Mobile applications, Desktop applications, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Networking and Network troubleshooting.
  • Understand how to break down systems and debugging to find root cause.
  • Excellent knowledge of QA methodology and Software development processes (Agile Scrum, RUP, IEEE, Safe, SDL, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Software Qualimetry.
  • Ability to manage a network, leading operational transformations, across a worldwide organization.
  • Strong ability to work in fast-paced environment and ability to multitask with ease is essential to the success of this position.
  • Strong communication with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and to promote effective teamwork.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate, strong leadership and organizational skills.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Education in computer science, software engineering or equivalent.
  • 15+ years' experience in software/firmware development and software quality assurance.
  • Experience managing teams from 10-50 people.
  • Collaborate with Executive Leaders, Quality Leaders and other stakeholders across the organization to ensure the LoB's offers are at the highest level for SW Quality.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, software architecture, peer reviews, testing techniques, qualimetry (code analysis), and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience / adaptability in using tools such as automation frameworks, configuration management tools, qualimetry (code analysis) tools, test management tools, and defect tracking systems.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Experience managing change in complex SW Systems.
  • Experience implementing SW best practices.
  • Experience testing complex, multi-threaded, and multi-component products.
  • Experience with API testing or integration.
  • Experience with automation testing/frameworks and performance testing/tools.
  • Extensive experience with various types of testing including unit, system, integration, user acceptance, regression, usability and end-to-end testing
