Principal, Application Capability Owner

Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced IT Owner to provide end-to-end ownership of business-critical ERP platforms supporting key business operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the ongoing stability, security, compliance, availability, and lifecycle management of complex enterprise ERP environments.

The ideal candidate will bring experience working with one or more large-scale ERP platforms and understand how ERP systems integrate across functions such as manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and enterprise operations. While deep expertise in any single ERP solution is not required, successful candidates will possess strong platform governance, service management, stakeholder leadership, and operational management experience within large enterprise environments.

This is a highly visible role that partners closely with architects, delivery teams, infrastructure teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure enterprise platforms remain resilient, compliant, and aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the application evolution roadmap and maintain accountability for the full application lifecycle.
  • Ensure a reliable, secure, and scalable technology landscape, including infrastructure, integrations, interfaces, and data flows.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, resilience, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for major incidents and drive resolution within established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with cybersecurity, data privacy, regulatory, audit, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Maintain ownership of application certification activities and compliance controls.
  • Oversee support and maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to established service level commitments.
  • Define, implement, and maintain archiving and log management strategies.
  • Partner with internal delivery organizations, architects, and service teams to ensure operational excellence.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and external partners.
  • Identify and mitigate operational, cybersecurity, technology, and data privacy risks.
  • Ensure timely application of patches and updates across application, database, and operating system layers.
  • Monitor platform performance and proactively address emerging issues and trends.
  • Ensure IT General Controls (ITGC) and change management processes are effectively implemented and maintained.
  • Manage application Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and support budget-related activities.
  • Maintain CMDB accuracy, asset information, and service mapping documentation.
  • Ensure technical documentation remains current, including architecture diagrams, business process flows, and integration documentation.
  • Review end-to-end ecosystem architecture to identify gaps, risks, and undocumented dependencies.
  • Collaborate with peers responsible for other ERP platforms to support consistent governance, standards, and operational practices across the enterprise.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

Experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in an IT Owner, Platform Owner, Service Delivery Manager, Application Owner, Product Owner, ERP Operations, or related enterprise IT leadership role.
  • Experience supporting large-scale ERP environments within complex enterprise organizations.
  • Experience working across multiple technology teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and support organizations.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence and drive alignment without direct authority.
  • Experience operating within global or highly matrixed organizations preferred.

Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of ERP platforms and business-critical enterprise applications.
  • Experience working with multiple ERP ecosystems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Knowledge of enterprise application architecture, integrations, middleware, interfaces, and data flows.
  • Understanding of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), including implementation, upgrades, support, maintenance, and retirement activities.
  • Strong knowledge of IT Service Management (ITIL), including Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Availability, and Service Level Management.
  • Experience with governance, audit controls, compliance frameworks, certification processes, and IT General Controls (ITGC).
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, patch management, identity and access management, and data privacy requirements.
  • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity Planning (BCP), High Availability (HA), and operational resilience practices.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 142,400 - USD 213,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
