Pre-sales Solution Architect (High Tech) - Expert Professional
The position is for Principal Consultant (Mechanical) providing consulting and design services for mission critical facilities across the C&SP, Colocation, IT, Telecoms, Financial Services sectors and other key industries.
This role is responsible for the end-to-end design of high-availability HVAC, Fire Protection and mechanical systems tailored for mission-critical environments, including Data Centres and Command Centres. A core focus of this role is the engineering of advanced liquid cooling architectures. You will ensure all technical solutions are optimized for project success, compliance to standards and highest customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate must demonstrate engineering excellence in mechanical systems for mission-critical facilities. The person should show leadership and ability to conduct effective communication at senior levels with key customers and industry partners and maintain a high profile within the business and project community to solidify Schneider Electric's reputation as a premier, trusted business partner.
The incumbent will play a pivotal role in scaling Schneider's M&E design and consulting capabilities by providing mentorship and fostering technical development within the team. As a subject matter expert, you will provide technical leadership for mission-critical projects across diverse sectors, including IT, Financial Services, Government and other industry segments.
The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and have a minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience. This role requires a self-motivated leader with strong communication and business consulting skills who is comfortable engaging with customers at all levels. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with proven project management expertise and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

1. HVAC, Liquid Cooling, Fire Protection and Mechanical System Design
- Stakeholder Engagement : Liaise with client project teams, external consultants and internal stakeholders to comprehensively define project requirements, scope and technical objectives.
- Solution Development : Convert project requirements into optimized engineering solutions that fulfill customer needs and provide a competitive advantage through right design and equipment selection.
- Compliance : Ensure all proposed solutions adhere strictly to local standards, regulation, codes and safety requirements.
- Technical Documentation : Produce comprehensive engineering packages, including capacity and design calculations, technical drawings, schematics, layouts and specifications.
- Value Proposition : Develop solution presentations, value propositions and compliance matrices to demonstrate technical alignment.
- Project Lifecycle Oversight : Design solutions should ensure successful project implementation and customer satisfaction.
- On-site Engineering Support : Provide technical guidance to the teams during installation regarding engineering processes, tools, procedures, regulatory compliance while ensuring quality control and accurate technical interpretation.
2. Bid Management
- Proposal Development : Provide bid management support through the preparation of technical solution proposals, including the development of detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Vendor Strategy and Costing : Identify and qualify third-party vendors. Establish preliminary cost estimates and ensure alignment with project budgetary requirements.
- Stakeholder Communication : Participate in customer meetings to provide updates on proposal status and address any technical or logistical challenges.
- Risk Mitigation and Reporting : Proactively identify and escalate roadblocks during the proposal phase to internal stakeholders, providing consistent status reports to the Country Solutions Manager.
- Process Governance : Maintain strict adherence to Schneider Electric's project methodologies, internal processes and approval procedures throughout the bid lifecycle.
3. Customer Care and Quality
- Quality Assurance : Ensure alignment between the proposed technical solution and the project scope to deliver high-quality and high-performance outcomes.
- Pre-sales Excellence : Deliver engineering services during the pre-sales phase to drive highest customer satisfaction and trust.
- Issue Resolution and Escalation : Escalate customer concerns to the Solutions Manager, maintaining accountability for the successful resolution and closure of all issues.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify solution or process enhancements, documenting and communicating to the respective owners and stakeholders to drive organizational excellence.
4. Partner Management
- Vendor Qualification and Compliance : Identifying, qualifying, and managing third-party partners to ensure they strictly adhere to Schneider Electric's methodologies, safety standards, and code of conduct.
- Performance and Strategic Selection : Monitor partner performance and select service providers based on their ability to deliver high quality results and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
5. Training and Development
- Competency Building : Lead the training and development of internal staff and external partners to ensure the high level technical competency required for successful service delivery.
- Continuous Professional Growth : Proactively maintain and update personal expertise in emerging technologies, industry tools, and evolving regulatory and industry standards.
Bachelor's Degree Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 10 years in Engineering or related discipline, particularly in mission critical applications and consulting engagement skills
Good written & verbal communication skills
