What will you do?

  • The Mechanical Component Intern will support the Fasteners Standardization Engineer in initiatives focused on component standardization, data cleanup, and lifecycle management. Working alongside the English Fasteners Leader, the intern will gain exposure to global engineering practices, mechanical standards, and the processes required to modernize and optimize the fasteners database.
  • This role is ideal for a student interested in industrial design, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, product development, or engineering operations. It provides hands-on experience balancing technical, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Location: MDIC (Apodaca): (PIIT) Apodaca 408 Ave Innovación Parque de Innovación e Investigación Tecnológico, Apodaca, 66628, Mexico.

Who will you report to?
  • Reports to Technical Standardization Engineer for Fasteners.

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?

Required:
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret or willingness to learn engineering drawings and mechanical standards
  • Proficiency with Excel and basic data management. (MUST)
  • Conversational English and good communication skills (written and verbal) (MUST)
  • Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn technical concepts

Preferred:
  • Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill, or similar)
  • Basic understanding of torque, preload, material properties, or mechanical design principles, industry standards such as ASME, SAE or ASTM.
