PP InT - QVE Technical Lead Engineer (FD Products)

Roles & mission

The QVE (Quality Value Engineering) Technical Lead role at Schneider Electric is a specialized leadership position focused on driving cost optimization, quality improvements, and value engineering initiatives across product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

. Value Engineering Leadership

  • Lead QVE initiatives to reduce product costs while maintaining or improving quality and performance.
  • Work closely with R&D, procurement, manufacturing, and marketing teams to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities
  • Collaborate with global HUBs and regional teams (e.g., China, France) to ensure alignment and knowledge transfer.
  • Oversee multiple QVE projects simultaneously, Align with all stakeholders (Quality, Indus, GSC..) to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance targets
  • Supplier Engagement: Collaborate with suppliers to explore alternative materials, components, or manufacturing processes that can reduce costs
  • Collaborate with other global Hubs (e.g., China, France,NAM) for all aspects of Engineering documentation and support, Gate approvals, know how and knowledge transfer.
  • Planning & Execution- Develop project plans using Work Breakdown Structures, Manage project schedules and monitor KPI achievements for all Line localization projects. Conduct risk analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with Product Owners on product technical specifications and Offer Technical Leaders for Engineering documentation, Testing plans,Certification requirements
  • Develop and test product qualification, certification and reliability requirements. Provide technical guidance to cross functional teams esp GSC assigned to these projects.
  • Manage execution of Manufactured samples build, validation and testing in close co-ordination with GSC Technical & Quality Team
  • Prepare all the artifacts, documents, results, presentations for the stage reviews to meet the stage gates criteria. Provide input into project gate reviews (e.g., Do Gate).
  • Establish governance mechanisms to track QVE project progress and report savings and performance metrics to senior leadership.Ensure timely reporting and updates to all stakeholders on project status and risks.
  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis to resolve design related failures during QVE implementation and stabilization.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in product design, testing, and validation processes.


Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering
  • Experience:Minimum 5-8 years engineering, manufacturing, or product development
  • Certifications in PMP, dFSR, Quality tools desired.

Preferred: Preferred experience in LV domain, with strong understanding of Breakers, MCB,RCB,MCCB ( overload relay, contactor, MPCB)

Skills:

Experience in product life cycle product design & development, production, costing, quality, value engineering,

Fair knowledge on continuous Engineering process with good Project management skills.

Good knowledge on design tools PDM/PLM/Creo. Past experience in SE tools (PDM/Symphony/MCSV/3D/2D drawing release) & SE process is an added advantage

Expertise in CAD tools such as PDM, Creo and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T), including tolerance stack-up analysis. Knowledge of GD&T and Tolerance stack up

Fair knowledge on manufacturing processes (e.g., molding, stamping, machining, moulding etc..) & assembly processes with decent knowledge on materials selection.

Good communication and presentation skills-both verbal and written-with the ability to prepare necessary status reports and technical presentations to stakeholders.

Proven track record of successfully launching new product development, QVE (quality value engineering), customizations, localization of products & part and product transfer project.

Familiarity with industrial costing and supply chain optimization
