Power Systems Product Owner
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $145,000 - $210,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

JOB SUMMARY:
Product Owner are extremely versatile and are in the middle of it all when it comes to their assigned products or solutions. They are the keystone representing the business, technical, and application sides of their offers to the cross functional teams which are responsible for the successful development, launch, and life of products. The Product Owner is a champion for products they represent, with ownership and responsibility over the positioning and evolution of their products to make them as successful as possible working with other teams on aspects such as marketing and pricing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Understand the market considerations such as technology trends, applications, channel/segment dynamics as well as competitive pressure to properly create product strategies.
• Sustain and grow an established Transfer Switch offer portfolio.
• Take on ownership over the full lifecycle and performance of offers under your supervision.
• Review pricing and profitability to maximize returns and identify areas of improvement. Use product and customer knowledge to pinpoint areas for cost optimization.
• Promote ASCO and its products by developing and executing launch, announcement, and marketing plans in collaboration with our marketing and sales team.
• Seek out the Voice of Sales, Customers, Services and other stakeholders to carry back to development teams working to identify beneficial offer changes.
• Develop business cases to summarize effort/costs vs proposed business and customer value for offer adaptations to drive prioritization and resource allocation.
• Work with various teams to develop detailed forecasts and ramping plans for new and EoL offers.

• Generate and balance offer requirements based on business and customer needs.
• Continuously review portfolio fit of all offers and make optimizations as needed.
• Communicate business details, product vision, and competitive updates to various internal and external stakeholders.
• Take ownership of prioritized offer initiatives to ensure they are driven and progress through the development process.
• 20% of time maybe travel for various internal/external meetings for projects or customer
interactions.
Qualifications
• Ability to understand technical concepts and applications around power management, codes & standards, and electrical systems
• Understand business principles - profitability, margin, cost analysis
• Understand marketing principles - product positioning, pricing strategies, channel management
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
• BS in engineering required; mechanical and/or electrical engineering preferred. Candidates with business, marketing, or finance degrees with strong technical backgrounds may be considered.
• 5+ years prior technical experience in the power, controls, or electric distribution industry preferred.
• 3+ years experience and knowledge in product management, product development, applications, sales, or technical marketing preferred.
• Interest in technical, business, and marketing principles with a desire to advance studies in those fields (MBA, MS in Engineering Mgmt).
COMPETENCIES:
• Collaborative skills to negotiate & support initiatives across different functional groups
• Strong in data analysis using excel and/or other data sources
• Ability to make presentations and create materials for field sales.
• Understanding of business strategy principles
• Project management experience and ability to be actively involved in multiple projects
• Financial acumen to assess new business opportunities
• Ability to influence
• Willingness to think outside-of-the-box
