Payroll Consultant - SAP
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Consultant - SAP Mexico to support and enhance our payroll operations and systems landscape. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in SAP Mexico Payroll, including configuration, schemas, rules, and functional troubleshooting.
The consultant will play a critical role in ensuring seamless payroll execution and resolving integration challenges between Oracle systems and external payroll vendors. This is a highly collaborative role requiring both technical and functional payroll expertise, along with strong communication skills in Spanish and English.
The position follows a hybrid work model based in Monterrey, with flexibility to travel domestically or internationally as needed.
What will you do:
- Design, configure, and support SAP Mexico Payroll, including schemas, rules, and payroll processing logic.
- Perform end-to-end payroll analysis and functional debugging to identify and resolve payroll calculation issues.
- Manage and support data migration activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of payroll data.
- Monitor, analyze, and resolve integration issues between Oracle systems and external payroll vendors.
- Execute payroll validation activities, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and troubleshooting discrepancies.
- Collaborate with internal IT, HR, Finance, and third-party vendors to ensure smooth payroll operations.
- Ensure compliance with Mexican statutory requirements (ISR, IMSS, Infonavit, labor laws, etc.).
- Support payroll implementations, system enhancements, and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Document configurations, processes, and issue resolutions to maintain knowledge continuity.
Required experience and qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in Mexico Payroll, with strong functional and technical exposure.
- Proven hands-on experience in SAP Payroll configuration (Mexico-specific).
- Strong expertise in:
- Payroll schemas and rules
- Payroll processing and validations
- Functional debugging and issue resolution
- Experience with payroll data migrations and system transitions.
- Demonstrated experience working with system integrations (Oracle to payroll vendor platforms).
- Strong understanding of Mexican payroll regulations and statutory compliance.
Required skills and competences:
- Bilingual proficiency: Spanish and English (mandatory)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex payroll and integration issues
- Effective stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
