Job purpose:

The purpose of this role is to help customers achieve their business objectives through SE IPA Digital Solution Offers.

The Digital Solutions offers are:

  • Ecostruxture Automation Expert (EAE)
  • Proleit
  • Cybersecurity Solutions and Services
  • Industrial Digital Transformation Consulting
  • AVEVA

In other words, you will grow the Digital Solutions business at Schneider Electric, through working closely with Sales Leads, Channel Partners and System Integrators, Industrial Automation Global Delivery Organisation, Line Of Business and End Users.

In the fast-changing landscape around software, this individual will be comfortable around articulating value propositions around new and different ways of implementing robust software solutions within the Operational Technology space primarily within the following segments (Mining/Metals/Minerals, Life Sciences, Food and Beverage, Transportation/Mobility).

This individual will contribute towards increasing the Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) of SE's Digital Solution business through advocating for a Subscription First approach that enables clients to maximise their CapEX investment, and championing cloud and hybrid solutions as part of proposed architecture for clients.

An innovative mindset and a 'Blue' way of thinking are key to this role, as is the ability to understand customer pain points through a consultative approach, the ability to network with stakeholders within the customer, and work closely with SE account management team and external stakeholders (Technology Partners), to help the customer achieve their goals.

This role will identify new sales leads and project opportunities for both new and existing end users whilst developing new value proposition within their segment using a consultative technical sales approach. Through strategic planning, opportunity analysis, and relationship building you will establish and grow Schneiders OT software solutions business.

Responsibilities:
  • Managing a dynamic opportunity portfolio across UK&I
  • Generating healthy pipeline of opportunities working closely with offer managers to meet customer requirements.
  • Creating and maintaining meaningful and trusted relationships with high level decision makers and technical authorities. Leveraging these relationships during pursuit and execution is key to succeeding in this role.
  • Capability to 'sell' transformation programs
  • Analysing customer requirements and working within the Schneider eco-system to address the customer needs.
  • The expectation is that all Business Development Manager candidates will have the interest and capacity to learn and articulate disruptive digital transformation solutions.
  • Create and maintain close working relationships with customer C Level as well as internal Schneider Sales Managers, Business Development Managers, Tendering, Commercial & Project Delivery teams.
  • Work independently as the key Digital Transformation business development manager in a geographic area
  • Own the Digital Solutions strategy for the associated segment\sub segment.

Skills:
  • Successful experience in atleast (1) segment business development specifically among MMM, Food and Beverage, Life Sciences, Mobility/Transportation/Ports
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and superior analytical skills.
  • Accustomed to fast-changing, complex and ambiguous environment.
  • Structured, organized individual who is capable of successfully handling multiple tasks.
  • Business Developer - proven track record of OT Software Solutions sales.
  • Segment Expert - at least two years or more preferred.
  • Team Player - passionate and dynamic professional with the energy and ability to obtain alignment and work effectively across teams and functions.
  • Team Builder - good people management experience with a coaching and collaborative team-oriented leadership style
  • Responsible for portfolio of sales in region of £2-5m p/a.
