NAM Executive Communication Leader
Reports to: Tom Millas, VP Brand & Communication, North America
Location: NAM Hub (Boston or Chicago preferred, although all considered)
Role mission
A member of Schneider Electric North America Brand & Communications team within NAM Marketing, the Communications Leader will be responsible for leading executive communications for the region, with direct oversight of the leadership communications for the NAM Operations President and select key leaders of the North America Leadership Team. The candidate will also take ownership of the NAM Leadership Communications programming, ensuring leadership engagement & strategic planning, as well as delivering thematic executive narratives and messaging oversight to shape Schneider Electric's storytelling leadership in the region. This is a senior level individual contributor role with direct accountability to an Executive Committee member, and it will report to the Vice President of Brand & Communications for North America.
Main responsibilities
- Lead and implement the Region President Communications Strategy, incorporating employee communications, external communications/PR, thought leadership, social media, and in-person speaking engagements, among other activities.
- Lead content development for Region President's communications programming, including briefing documents; speeches; written, visual, and verbal presentations; and topical messaging.
- Coordinate and align with Global Communications teams and CEO Office on a regular basis for Executive Committee events, leading strategy & content execution for North America. Events include the annual Global Pulse; Top Pulse; and Executive Committee and Board visits.
- Develop and lead NAM Leadership Communications to influence, align, and engage the Top 200-400 leaders in the region on a regular basis. Responsibilities include agenda and content development; briefing and planning; and hosting responsibilities for events including Open Lines, Town Halls, and State of Business presentations.
- Lead annual NAM Leadership Pulse event strategy & execution, collaborating with multiple stakeholders and support teams to execute a 2-3 day in-person event.
- Oversee NAM thematic messaging for executives/leadership, collaborating with the NAM Brand & Communications teams to ensure consistency in our narratives and account for external sociocultural and political factors.
- Support additional NAM LT with critical presentations or communications as needed and at the discretion of the Region President.
- Act as an advisor and coach for executive communications, including public speaking and presentation support.
- Collaborate closely with Chief of Staffs and Executive Assistants to ensure clear processes for new and upcoming speaking engagements for Region President.
- Align Executive Communications to broader internal communications calendar and critical initiatives in NAM, including the Company Program/Strategy, Company Story, and Brand Campaign.

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $139,200 - $208,800 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Skills with proficiency level and experience
- Extensive experience in managing both External and Internal Communications profile with Tier 1 Companies - previous experience managing executive and/or CEO communications preferred.
- Minimum ~ 7 years experience in thought leadership and content development, focused on thematic storytelling and narrative development.
- Excellent Strategic Content development and execution skills. PowerPoint proficiency, basic graphic design, creative writing and visual storytelling are required.
- Proven track record of writing in multiple formats - speechwriting, long-form thought leadership content, and social media required.
- Communications Planning & Strategy experience - proven delivery of communications plans across large, complex organizations.
- Strong experience of working in a matrix organization across various time zones
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills - with a proven track record of supporting and advising senior leaders.
- Excellent project management, problem-solving and delegation abilities, ability to manage complex global processes and programs.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong multi-tasking skills and ability to strategize & execute within tight timelines.
- Large-scale event management experience preferred.
- A self-motivated team-player with an open 'can-do' attitude with high levels of energy
- Working knowledge of financial operations & business strategy - background in financial communications or operational excellence a plus.
- Strong external perspective & understanding of regional and sociocultural trends to ensure relevant and contextual executive communications (i.e. politics; business leadership; finance; etc.)
- Strong Competency in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Word, Excel etc.
- Ability to work at a Schneider Electric Hub location up to 2 days a week, and ability to travel up to 25% of working time to support executive communications.
