Marketing Director UKI
Role Mission
We are seeking an accomplished Marketing Director to lead the UK & Ireland (UK&I) Marketing organisation and drive the next phase of our transformation.
This role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence. You will bring the global Brand to Order strategy to life in the UK&I market, ensuring it delivers meaningful brand impact, strong customer engagement, and measurable commercial outcomes. As a key member of the UK&I leadership community, you will act as the senior marketing expert, shaping direction, driving consistency, and ensuring effective execution across all marketing domains.
The remit spans the marketing ecosystem:
- Brand & Marketing Engagement
- Digital Customer Experience
- Internal Communications
- Public Relations, Corporate Communications & Thought Leadership
- Marketing Operations
Success will hinge on collaboration, clarity of vision, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to lead a highly capable team through change.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Build, lead, and motivate a high-performance marketing organisation
- Develop team capability through coaching, talent development, and succession planning
- Identify and recruit new skills as needed to meet evolving business demands
Key Measures: Employee engagement, DEI progress, leadership feedback
Brand & Marketing Engagement
- Own UK&I brand strategy, messaging, and storytelling
- Ensure consistent activation of global brand and campaign frameworks across all channels
- Strengthen our presence across PR, events, social media, retail environments, and customer experience centres
- Partner with the UK&I leadership team to embed company priorities and foster a high-performance internal culture
Key Measures: Brand awareness, earned media share, brand attribute performance, brand promoter score
Digital Customer Experience
- Lead digital acquisition across SEO, SEM, social, paid media, email, and digital content
- Use data, analytics and A/B testing to continuously optimise digital performance

- Ensure seamless integration of digital tools including apps, configurators, customer portals, and catalogues
- Champion insight-based customer journey design and experience improvements
Key Measures: Active digital users, lead generation, conversion rates, website growth, digital satisfaction (NPS)
Marketing Operations & Demand Generation
- Oversee marketing automation, demand generation, KPI management, and reporting
- Drive a fact-based, analytical culture to evaluate marketing ROI
- Partner with sales and business units to ensure strong pipeline support
Key Measures: Marketing influenced orders, lead generation, contact acquisition
Public Relations & Thought Leadership
- Define and lead external communications strategy
- Strengthen media relationships and manage press activity, including proactive positioning and crisis response
- Build and elevate the organisation's thought leadership in sustainability, energy management, and digital transformation
Annual Marketing & Sales Plan (AMSP)
- Lead the UK&I AMSP process and ensure alignment across all Schneider business units
- Translate strategic business goals into a clear, actionable, and innovative marketing plan
- Ensure seamless collaboration between central marketing and business marketing teams
Candidate Profile
Education
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or similar; MBA or equivalent preferred
Professional Experience
- 10+ years of strategic marketing leadership in a medium to large multinational organisation (B2B or professional B2C)
- Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams
- Background in business development, sales, or channel marketing is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to lead marketing transformation programmes in a matrix environment
- Strong digital expertise and experience deploying modern tools and platforms
- Deep customer and channel understanding, ideally in complex or solutions-led businesses

- Strong executive presence with credibility at C‑suite level
- High emotional intelligence, resilience, and sound judgement
- Influential communicator who can navigate complex stakeholder landscapes
- Skilled collaborator able to build strong internal and external networks
