Manufacturing Production Manager, 1st Shift
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $112,000 - $168,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. About the Role:
The Production Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of the company's manufacturing operations and facility management. Primary responsibilities include, managing production processes, ensuring product quality and efficiency, and optimizing resource allocation to meet production targets; leading and mentoring a team of supervisors and production staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Managerial Responsibilities:
- Patner with HR on hiring strategies for open roles within the Production departments and makes final hiring decision.
- Organize schedules, approve time-off requests, and manage workloads..
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive in accordance with company review periods.
- Manages discipline and termination of employees with guidance from Human Resources and in accordance with company policy.
Plant Responsibilities:
- Oversee hiring, training, and performance management of shop personnel.
- Manage and optimize production cells to meet growth targets and lean principles.
- Schedule production to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Ensure proper inspection and packaging for customer shipments.
- Collaborate with leads and other departments to resolve issues and improve productivity.
- Monitor shop floor costs and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Education/Certificates/Licenses:
- Bachelor's degree in operations management, industrial engineering, business or related field required.
- Proven experience 5+ years in a managerial role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a large team (100+ employees) effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality requirements and safety standards.
- Capable of managing building maintenance and coordinating with Supply Chain to set up the proper agreements.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems, production planning software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in industrial / Electrical equipment building.
- Minimum of 5 years supervising / leading production team(s)
Skills & Abilities:
- Electrical / Mechanical Machine Build and panel wiring experience
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints required.
- Prior experience in a " technician", cell leader or focus factory role.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication and delegaition skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Office Skill
- Continuous Improvement and ISO 9001 experience
- Manufacturing Cell Optimization
Overtime / Travel Requirements:
Overtime (OT) will be required from time to time for short-term or long-term duration, as business needs mandate. Travel may be required by any mode of transportation as determined by company for business reasons such as, but not limited to, project site visits, skill development or training.
Physical Requirements/Abilities (If necessary)
Position requires good manual dexterity, fine motor skills, visual acuity, spatial awareness, and proficiency in using hand tools and equipment. This position requires lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged periods of standing, and consistent bending, twisting, pulling, or squatting when assembling. Candidates should be able to comfortably perform physical tasks associated with the role, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
