Manager - Testing

To lead and manage the transformer testing function by ensuring timely execution of routine, type, and special tests in compliance with national/international standards, customer requirements, and internal quality systems. The role is responsible for resource management, equipment upkeep, documentation control, customer coordination, and continuous improvement in the testing processes.
1. Testing Operations
- Conduct and supervise routine, type, and special tests as per national/international standards and the Transformer Testing Procedure Manual.
- Ensure adherence to approved QAP and customer requirements during FAT and internal tests.
- Prepare FAT schedules for customers based on approved QAP and coordinate all pre‑FAT activities.
- Perform control and operation checks of RTCC & MB units.
- Ensure proper maintenance, upkeep, and calibration of all testing equipment and instruments.
- Arrange periodic calibration of all instruments as per schedule and maintain calibration records.
- Plan and allocate manpower based on workload to ensure timely execution of testing activities.
- Train and mentor team members on testing processes, standards, and safety.
- Conduct Quality Control checks related to testing and ensure compliance with internal quality standards.
- Handle nonconforming testing work, initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and ensure closure.
- Maintain ISO/IEC 17025 (NABL) related laboratory documents and ensure compliance with accreditation requirements.
- Drive implementation, maintenance, and improvement of Management System functions; identify departures and initiate actions to correct or eliminate them.
- Prepare, check, and approve test reports ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Perform analysis of test results, provide statements of conformity, opinions, and interpretations.
- Maintain organized documentation for tests, calibrations, nonconformities, and system records.
- Provide technical support to customers during FAT and resolve queries related to testing.
- Offer technical assistance to site teams and other departments on testing-related matters.
What's in it for you:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in transformer testing, quality, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of transformer standards (IS/IEC) and testing procedures.
- Experience in NABL/ISO 17025 documentation and audits (preferred).
