Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and commercially driven Portfolio Manager to lead and manage a portfolio of minority and venture-stage investments. This role blends financial rigor with business value creation, ensuring investments generate both strategic advantage and strong returns.

Key Responsibilities

• Investment committee operation & portfolio management
• Work closely with internal teams and/or external financial advisors to conduct financial assessments on minority and venture-stage investments, covering pre - investment financial analysis, valuation, scenario analysis for investment decisions
• Lead the preparation of investment memo for minority and venture-stage opportunities for Investment Committee review, ensuring rigorous analysis of the investment rationale in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Continuously identify financial and operational risks across the investment lifecycle and develop practical mitigation measures in line with group compliance protocols and governance frameworks.
• Lead post-investment portfolio management, including internal activities (e.g. performance tracking, budget and cash flow review, funding planning, and SE internal functions coordination) and external activities (e.g. portfolio company board meeting and communication arrangemet).
• Monitor ongoing partnerships and portfolio company synergy plans, and play a key role in driving business value creation and facilitate strategic connections between portfolio companies and internal business units to unlock collaboration opportunities

• Fund Relationship Management
• Act as the key interface to the external VC/PE funds with investment from SE China
• Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with fund partners, investment teams, and ecosystem stakeholders
• Ensure alignment between fund investment strategy and corporate strategic priorities
• Facilitate introductions and collaboration opportunities between SE and the portfolio companies within the SE invested Fund
• Consolidate and monitor performance across fund investments, including exposure to underlying portfolio companies and synthesize key insights for internal stakeholders
• Provide regular updates to senior leadership on fund relationships, opportunities, and risks;
• Act as the internal advocate for leveraging external fund ecosystems and screen the potential fund for China New Business Development to invest in.

• Financial Management
• Define overall partnership & strategic investment activity budget
• Maintain robust internal control system to safeguard company interest and ensure compliance with legal and corporate governance requirements.
• Following Business Finance guidelines, monitor cost and performance of China New Business Development activities

• Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related majors from renowned domestic or international universities; CPA qualification is highly preferred.
• Over 8 years of experience in Business Strategy, Business Finance and/or Investment Portfolio Management
• Experience in Transaction Advisory at top accounting firms and/or equity investment platforms are highly preferred. Experience in energy or industrial sectors is preferred.
• Solid capabilities in investment financial analysis (e.g. FDD, financial modeling) and business finance management.
• Solid industry research and analytical skills with business acumen to link strategic insights to partnership and/or investment strategy.
• English proficiency as a working language.
