Manager - Quality Assurance (PCBA)

Key Responsibilities
- Quality Management System (QMS)
- Establish, maintain, and improve QMS aligned with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 / AS9100 / ISO 13485 (as applicable).
- Ensure adherence to IPC standards (IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑7711/7721, IPC‑J‑STD‑001).
- Lead internal audits, management reviews, and certification audits.
- Own quality documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and control plans.
- PCBA Process Quality Assurance
- Oversee quality control across SMT, THT, selective soldering, wave soldering, and final assembly.
- Ensure effective implementation of SPI, AOI, X‑ray, ICT, FCT, and burn‑in testing.
- Define and monitor critical process parameters and inspection checkpoints.
- Review DFM/DFT feedback and support engineering during NPI and ECN implementation.
- Defect Reduction & Continuous Improvement
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) using tools such as 8D, 5‑Why, Fishbone, FMEA.
- Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and customer issues.
- Track, analyze, and improve KPIs like FPY, DPPM, DOA, rework, and scrap.
- Promote Lean, Six Sigma, and mistake‑proofing (Poka‑Yoke) initiatives.
- Customer Quality Management
- Act as the primary quality interface for customers regarding PCBA quality issues.
- Manage customer complaints, returns, and audits with timely closure of actions.
- Support PPAP, FAIR, and customer‑specific quality requirements.
- Ensure compliance with shipment readiness and quality acceptance criteria.
- Supplier Quality Management
- Define supplier quality requirements for PCBs, electronic components, and EMS services.
- Conduct supplier audits, qualification, and performance reviews.
- Manage incoming quality issues and drive supplier corrective actions.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and Technicians.
- Build quality awareness and accountability across production teams.
- Plan training on IPC standards, inspection methods, and quality tools.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with ESD control, RoHS, REACH, and customer regulatory needs.
- Manage risk assessments related to process changes and new product launches.
- Maintain traceability, lot control, and data integrity for PCBA builds.
What's in it for you:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in PCBA / EMS / Electronics Manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a people‑management role.
- Strong knowledge of SMT processes, PCB Assembly, and testing methodologies.
- Experience with customer audits and certifications.
Certifications (Preferred)
- IPC‑A‑610 CIS / CIT
- Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt
- Lead Auditor - ISO 9001 / IATF / AS9100 (as applicable)
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Hands‑on experience with quality tools and statistical methods
- Excellent communication with customers, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams
- Ability to lead change and drive a quality‑first culture
- Proficiency in ERP, MES, and quality reporting systems
