About the Role
Schneider Electric is seeking a proactive and results‑driven Logistics Procurement Buyer to manage, optimize, and strategically source transportation and logistics services across our North American supply chain. This role supports key business objectives by driving cost efficiency, ensuring service excellence, improving sustainability, and strengthening supplier performance.
Operating in a hybrid environment based out of the Franklin, TN Hub, the Logistics Procurement Buyer collaborates closely with global supply chain teams, transportation operations, finance, and other procurement professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Execute sourcing initiatives for logistics categories (e.g., transportation, warehousing, parcel, LTL, FTL, ocean, air).
- Conduct RFX (RFP/RFQ) events, evaluate bids, and support award recommendations.
- Negotiate commercial terms, service levels, and sustainability objectives with logistics providers.
- Manage supplier relationships, performance reviews, and corrective action plans.
Cost Optimization
- Identify, analyze, and deliver cost‑reduction and value‑creation opportunities.
- Support annual budget and cost cycle processes with accurate rate and spend data.
- Monitor logistics market trends and proactively recommend mitigation strategies.
Operational Support & Execution
- Ensure suppliers deliver to expected operational KPIs (OTIF, transit times, accuracy).
- Partner with Transportation, Distribution, and Planning teams to resolve service issues via escalation processes.
- Maintain contracts, rate files, vendor onboarding, and procurement documentation.
Analytics & Reporting
- Perform detailed cost analysis, benchmarking, and scenario modeling.
- Track category performance (cost, service, sustainability, risk).
- Utilize procurement systems (Keelvar/SMC3/Coupa or similar) and analytics tools to support analysis and decision‑making.
Compliance, Risk & Sustainability
- Ensure logistics procurement activities comply with Schneider Electric policies and global standards.
- Participate in business continuity planning, risk mitigation strategy development and supplier risk assessments.
- Support Schneider Electric's sustainability and carbon‑reduction commitments within the transportation network.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or transportation.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Power Point, Word, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Experience with sourcing, negotiation strategies, and supplier management.
- Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, matrixed organization.
Preferred
- Experience in logistics procurement within a regional, global or large-scale environment.
- Knowledge of transportation modes (LTL, FTL, parcel, ocean, air, fleet, FAP) and 3PL/4PL management.
- Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g., Coupa, Keelvar, SMC3).
