Industrial Automation Sales Manager- Discrete & Hybrid Southeast

Reports To: Regional Sales Director - East
Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Industrial Automation Sales Manager to lead and grow our automation business with a strong emphasis on PLC systems, Software-centric automation solutions, AVEVA softwares and net new business development. This role will be responsible for coaching and guiding a high-performing sales team while executing a multi-channel strategy that includes End Users, Consulting Engineers, System Integrators, and Channel Partners.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with corporate goals for industrial automation.
  • Drive growth in PLC and Software-based automation solutions, focusing on new customer acquisition and market expansion.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets, with a strong emphasis on Net new business.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships across four key pillars: End Users, Consulting Engineers, System Integrators, and Channel Partners.
  • Promote a consultative sales approach, positioning the company as a trusted advisor in automation.
  • Identify customer pain points and align solutions that integrate hardware, software, and services.
  • Lead key account planning and execution for strategic opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategy.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline visibility, and performance reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial automation sales, with a strong background in PLC systems and software-driven automation.
  • Proven track record of leading sales teams and delivering consistent revenue growth.
  • Deep understanding of the industrial automation ecosystem, including OEMs, integrators, and channel networks.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel ~ 30% to 50%
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with major automation platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, etc.).
  • Familiarity with IIoT, SCADA, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, product management, and engineering teams.
