The Role: Head of tendering team - Data Centers - East Asia

What will you do?

  • Leader of a team of tendering managers specialized in the Data Center construction projects with VIP customers in the East Asia zone.
  • Oversees the entire opportunity lifecycle from initial opportunity identification, Request for Proposal (RFP) analysis to final submission and post-tender negotiations.
  • Oversees the definition of the "win strategy" & its execution to maximize win rate, order intake and profitability.
  • Drives alignment between inputs from sales team, engineering, finance, legal dept to ensure to ensure key success criteria are met as well as company objectives at the offer submission to customer.
  • Ensures thorough risk assessments of contract terms and technical requirements. Ensure all submissions strictly adhere to regulatory, legal, and client-specific guidelines.
  • Oversees accurate & optimized cost estimations and price calculations to maintain profitability while staying competitive.
  • Foster bid to win mindset within the tender team and with other support functions (purchasing, technical....), develop price intelligence/benchmarking.
  • Supports the tender team during the internal offer approval process, clarifying the bidding strategy and risk mitigation actions (when needed)
  • Ensures the bidding team remains within the approved mandate during negociations with client.
  • Maintains professional relationships with clients, handle clarifications, and represent the company in pre-bid meetings and interviews.
  • Manages the team's annual budget and keeps the tender pipeline updated on a monthly basis with 12 months forward visibility.
  • Manages tendering team future workload (monthly) and provides monthly forecast to execution team & factories to ensure SE has the capability and the capacity to execute per project requirements
  • Develop, coach, and manage the performance of Tendering manager.
  • Drives productivity during the tendering lifecycle thru improved processes, tools, and workflows.
  • Ensures lessons learned are implemented in future tenders per "win/loss" analysis and feedback from project execution managers.

What qualifications will make you successful?
  • Preferred University Master Degree (Engineering and/or Business)
  • Fluent English.
  • Other languages are a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years in Solution Tendering &/or Customer project environment, with experience in complex tender / projects
  • 5 years successful experience in project team management (at least functional management).
  • Experience in Datacenter environement is a strong plus
  • Proven ability to lead a multicultural team with a growth mindset
  • Excellent commercial acumen (with sales team & customers)
  • Strong skills in commercial risk assessment, cost calculation, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to coach others and learn from others, share her/his knowledge and collaborate efficiently.
