Business Development Manager - Specification (Developers, Architects & Designers)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager - Specification to join our team in our Perth office.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving specification and preference for Schneider Electric solutions across developers, architects, interior designers and key influencers within the residential and commercial built environment. You will build strong, trusted relationships early in the project lifecycle, influencing design outcomes and ensuring Schneider Electric solutions are embedded from concept through to delivery.
Working closely with internal stakeholders across Home, Distribution and the broader electrical ecosystem, you will understand customer drivers, design intent, sustainability objectives and project constraints, and translate these into integrated, value‑led solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Build, develop and maintain strategic relationships with developers, architects, interior designers, electrical consultants and key specifiers to drive early‑stage engagement and project influence
• Own and manage a portfolio of strategic specification accounts, aligning engagement plans to market segments, project pipelines and growth priorities
• Influence project outcomes by embedding Schneider Electric solutions into specifications, schedules and design standards across residential and commercial developments
• Act as a trusted technical and commercial advisor, supporting customers through concept design, solution evaluation and definition while balancing performance, sustainability and cost considerations
• Collaborate with internal sales, offer, marketing and project teams to ensure seamless conversion from specification to execution
• Lead solution‑based conversations across home energy management, electrical distribution and connected technologies, representing Schneider Electric across multiple organisational levels - Deliver high‑impact technical presentations, CPDs, design workshops and product launches to the specification community
• Bring market intelligence, project insights and emerging trends back into the business to support offer development and go‑to‑market strategies
• Demonstrate strong curiosity and passion for technology, electrification, sustainability and the evolving energy landscape
• Create clear value differentiation for customers by aligning Schneider Electric solutions to design intent, regulatory requirements and future‑ready outcomes
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 8 years' experience in the electrical industry, ideally with strong exposure to specification‑led roles, projects or design engagement
• Proven experience working with or influencing developers, architects, interior designers, electrical consultants or major specifiers
• Strong understanding of home energy, distribution and connected building solutions and how they are applied in real‑world projects
• Demonstrated ability to work across matrix organisations, collaborating with sales, offers, marketing and project delivery teams to drive winning strategies
• Commercially astute, with the ability to balance design intent, technical performance and commercial outcomes
• Passionate about learning new technologies and understanding key trends shaping the built environment and energy transition
