Financial Analyst

Schneider Electric has an onsite (5 days a week) opportunity for a Financial Analyst in Buffalo, NY. The role requires an on-site, in-plant presence - remote work will be allowed situationally and on an as needed basis, but the expectation of this position is that your on-site in plant presence will be required 5 days per week.

In this role, you will support the Plant Finance Manager in managing the company's financial planning, analysis, costing and reporting functions. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to assist in strategic decision-making and enhance overall financial performance. Additionally, the analyst will support the integration of the entity for a specified duration, ensuring alignment with corporate financial practices.

What will you do?

  1. Costing: Lead the Global Supply Chain (GSC) Annual Operating Cost (AOC) process, including defining and updating standard overhead rates, establishing product costing methodologies, and ensuring accurate allocation of manufacturing costs.
  1. Inventory KPIs: Define, implement, and monitor key inventory performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turns, days on hand, excess & obsolete levels, and accuracy metrics. Partner with operations and supply chain teams to drive improvements in working capital, optimize inventory levels, and ensure alignment with corporate financial targets.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of the annual budget and financial forecasts; monitor performance against the budget and provide variance analysis.
  3. Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
  4. Integration Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the financial integration of these entities, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and practices during the transition period.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to gather relevant data and insights, ensuring alignment with financial goals and strategies.
  6. Ad Hoc Analysis: Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports as requested by the CFO or other senior management.
  7. Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial performance and operational efficiency.
  8. Presentation Support: Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for board meetings and executive-level discussions.

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $117,600 - $176,400 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees, inclusive of medical (with member reward points), dental, vision, and basic life insurance, Benefit Bucks (credits to apply towards your benefits) flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, 401(k) + match, well-being and recognition (including service anniversary) programs, 12 holidays per year, 15 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date), and military leave benefits.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or MBA or CPA / equivalent in Finance is a must.
  • Minimum of 5 + years professional work experience (not including internships) in Costing, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience from manufacturing industry is a must.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools (Excel, financial software).
  • Knowledge in Acumatica is plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
