Field Services Tender Manager

Mission:

In close cooperation and under the leadership of the Field Services Sales Representative or the Opportunity Leader, addresses qualified opportunities by managing their transformation into an adequate bid reflecting customer needs.

Field Services Tender Manager works on projects and flow business of low to high technical and commercial complexity.

He or she prepares the proposal and offers, leads risk assessment and the necessary approvals before the offers are submitted to the customer, as well as the commercial and technical impact evaluation during negotiations.

Field Services Tender Manager ensures the closing of the deal in partnership with the FS Sales Representative or the Opportunity Leader and leads its transfer into execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial & Win Strategy

  • Define winning tender strategy with the Opportunity Leader; contribute to capture reviews and negotiations.
  • Prepare commercial offers and executive summaries highlighting value and differentiation.
  • Maintain open communication with customers and Sales to keep proposals aligned and competitive.

Tender Preparation & Governance
  • Lead end-to-end tender preparation across technical, contract, purchasing, finance, HSE, logistics, and workshop/site works.
  • Attend kick-offs, set bid schedules, chair follow-ups; translate target price to target cost and drive cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with tender team in region for solution strategy, review/interpret specifications and requirements; coordinate BoM, solution description, and assumptions/exclusions.
  • Submit complete, compliant offers on time; support clarifications and ensure thorough handover to execution.

Collaboration & Support
  • Support Service Sales on RFQs for low/medium/high-complexity opportunities; provide clarifications quickly.
  • Collaborate on costing strategy, client-specific price summaries, and T&Cs with Sales/Opportunity Leader.

Continuous Improvement
  • Improve time-to-quote and continuously undertake initiatives to improve work productivity and efficiency.
  • Post-award cost/performance reviews: For every won project tender and maintenance contract, compare tendered vs. actual execution costs, analyze variances, document corrective actions, and feed learnings into future bids.
  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering or Business preferred).
  • Knowledge of Electrical/Mechanical Distribution: LV, MV, BMS, UPS/Cooling for Data Centers.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Proposal/Tendering/Inside Sales; Data Center exposure is a plus.
  • Knowledge in CAPEX/OPEX project and service costing.
  • Ability to develop system architecture, generate BoM, and prepare proposals.
  • Experience with quotation tools, CRM, and approval stage-gates.
  • Strong commercial mindset, analytical skills, resilience under pressure.
  • Languages: Japanese & English (business-fluent).
