Position: Field Service Manager

This position will priarily be remote with Chicago, IL as a primary location for onsite work

  • Other locations that will be consdiered: Linthicum Heights, MD/ Dallas, TX/ Altanta, GA and Horsham, PA
  • This position should expect to travel once or twice a quarter to various Schneider Electric Branches and Customer sites.

The Field Service Manager (FSM) is responsible for leading and developing a team of Field Service Representatives (FSRs) while ensuring safe, high-quality service delivery and exceptional customer experiences across a diverse portfolio of National VIP and Data Center customers.

The FSM serves as both a people leader and trusted customer advisor, partnering with Operations, Service Delivery, and Sales teams to drive operational excellence, support business growth, and deliver customer outcomes across Building Automation, Fire & Security, and Mechanical service offerings. The role requires balancing workforce development, customer engagement, and service delivery execution across geographically dispersed customer sites and critical environments.

This position requires a proactive leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing talent in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Field Service Representatives, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for service delivery across a portfolio of National VIP and Data Center accounts, ensuring consistent execution and exceptional customer outcomes.
  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with customers through consultative interactions, field engagement, and on-site support.
  • Partner with Service Delivery Managers, Sales, Account Managers, and Operations teams to develop and execute service delivery plans aligned with customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with service standards, processes, and quality expectations throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Drive operational performance through effective planning, workforce utilization, and delivery execution across multiple customer sites and service agreements.
  • Perform field quality audits and provide coaching to improve customer outcomes, technician effectiveness, and service consistency.
  • Support business growth by identifying customer needs and collaborating with account teams to capture additional service opportunities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to safety, quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, and employee development.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of national service delivery standards and best practices.

This position reports to the Service Operations Manager.

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the building systems industry, including Building Automation Systems (BAS), Fire & Security, Mechanical Systems, or related technologies.
  • Previous people leadership, mentoring, or team development experience preferred.
  • Strong customer relationships , problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to lead in a matrixed environment and collaborate across multiple functions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time-management abilities.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 117,600 - USD 176,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
