Export Control and Sanctions Senior Manager - Americas

Schneider Electric has an opportunity for an Export Control & Sanctions Sr. Manager- Americas in Nashville, TN, Raleigh, NC, Boston, MA, Dallas, TX, or Westmont, IL.

As an Export Control & Sanctions Senior Manager - Americas, you will serve as a key leader within the Global Export Control & Sanctions Center of Excellence (COE), responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable export control and economic sanctions while enabling business growth and operational success. You will provide leadership for regional governance, sanctions compliance, technology controls, licensing, due diligence, and compliance transformation initiatives. You will also partner extensively with executive leadership, Legal, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Procurement, Information Security, Engineering, Sales, and Operations to proactively identify and mitigate regulatory risks while supporting Schneider Electric's strategic objectives. Additionally, you will foster a risk-based, data-driven, business-focused compliance culture across the Americas.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Governance

• Lead deployment of the Americas Export Control & Sanctions compliance program, ensuring alignment with Schneider Electric's global compliance strategy.
• Develop and execute regional compliance strategies that balance risk mitigation with business enablement.
• Provide executive-level briefings, compliance metrics, and risk assessments to senior management and compliance leadership.

Export Control & Sanctions Compliance

• Oversee compliance with applicable export control and sanctions regulations, including but not limited to: U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR),Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Department of Energy (DOE),Department of Defense (DOD),OFAC Sanctions Programs, and Canadian Export Controls and Sanctions
• Monitor regulatory developments and interpret business impacts across the Americas.
• Develop and implement controls to address emerging regulatory and geopolitical risks.
• Provide guidance on licensing, exemptions, exceptions, authorizations, and regulatory reporting requirements and continuous improvement across regional activities.

Digital Transformation & Analytics

• Lead initiatives to modernize export control and sanctions compliance processes as assigned.
• Support implementation and optimization of compliance technologies, screening tools, workflow solutions, and risk-monitoring platforms as assigned
• Utilize analytics and dashboards to monitor compliance KPIs, identify trends, and improve decision-making.
• Promote automation and scalable compliance solutions.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members, building future compliance capability across the region.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 10-15 years of progressively responsible experience in export controls, trade compliance, sanctions, or regulatory compliance.
• Significant experience interpreting and applying:
  • EAR
  • ITAR
  • OFAC sanctions regulations
  • Global sanctions frameworks
  • Licensing and authorization requirements
• Experience managing complex compliance programs in a multinational organization.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving change across large organizations.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.

Preferred:

• Professional compliance certifications in trade compliance, export controls, sanctions, or ethics & compliance.
• Experience with:
  • SAP GTS
  • Compliance screening and compliance workflow platforms
  • Power BI or compliance analytics tools
• Experience within industrial manufacturing, energy, automation, technology, aerospace, defense, or engineering industries.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 168,800 - USD 253,200 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
