Expert, Functional Lead - SAP MM/PP
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $114,400 - $171,600 per year, which
includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United
States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within
the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a

We are looking for a passionate, experienced and skilled Functional Lead (FL) to support the digital transformation within Schneider Electric. As a member of the Enterprise IT team within the Digital organization supporting the respective program scrum teams, you will lead definition, planning and delivery of iterative releases to digital platforms using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
General Summary:
As a Functional Lead, you will partner with Product Management and technical teams to drive transformation initiatives in a discrete manufacturing environment, specifically supporting Engineered-to-Order (ETO) and Configured-to-Order (CTO) processes. This role combines deep functional and technical expertise in SAP Production Planning (PP) and Materials Management (MM) modules with leadership in solution design, process standardization, and large-scale ERP implementations. You will help shape the transformation roadmap, ensure alignment with business objectives, and deliver scalable, efficient solutions leveraging SAP S/4HANA and integrations with third-party systems.
- Serve as the functional lead providing technical and process expertise, driving solution and process standardization across SAP PP and integrated platforms.
- Partner with Product Owners and Managers to define scope, confirm required customizations, and identify value drivers; advise on design decisions and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and technical teams to shape the Solution Roadmap and Architecture Runway, ensuring integration with Finance, Sales, Logistics, Project Systems (including ETO/CTO), Supply Chain, and third-party systems.
- Lead and support Agile delivery teams through sprint planning, execution, and backlog management; ensure timely delivery of user stories and resolution of defects.
- Oversee development, testing, and end-to-end process validation; define test scope and ensure coverage for complex manufacturing scenarios.
- Drive risk mitigation, clear impediments, and provide guidance to maintain alignment with program vision and standards.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities including stakeholder engagement, change management, and execution of comprehensive cutover plans for business and technical readiness.
- Promote innovation and problem-solving to minimize customizations while meeting user needs; foster collaboration and continuous improvement across distributed teams.
- Actively participate in program ceremonies such as PI Planning and backlog grooming to maintain transparency and alignment.

Requirements / Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in SAP PP/MM and discrete manufacturing environments.
- Proven leadership in multiple complex ERP implementation projects and large-scale business transformation programs leveraging SAP technologies, including at least one full end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation in a discrete manufacturing environment (ETO/CTO).
Technical Expertise
- Core Modules: SAP Production Planning (PP) and Materials Management (MM).
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain Processes, Configure to Order (CTO), Make to Order (MTO), Make to Stock (MTS), Engineer to Order (ETO) product segments and supporting technologies.
- Hands-on SAP S/4HANA experience; capable of designing, building, and implementing solutions.
- Exposure to procurement tools like Ariba or Coupa (preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience designing and developing integrations using SAP PI, SAP PO, SAP CPI, MuleSoft, and other middleware tools for third-party system connectivity.
- Ability to provide configuration and analysis support for SAP Variant Configuration (VC) module, including classes, characteristics, tables, dependencies, profiles, and super BOMs/Routings.
- Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle and SAP implementation methodologies.
- Strong understanding of shopfloor management and manufacturing execution systems.
- Understanding of Agile principles and frameworks (Scrum and/or Kanban); SAFe experience highly desired.
Role Context:
- This position is more back-office operational than Sales & Distribution (SD) roles, covering planning, manufacturing, and procurement under Supply Chain Management (SCM).
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and technical teams to shape the Solution Roadmap and Architecture Runway, ensuring integration with Finance, Sales, Logistics, Project Systems (including ETO/CTO), Supply Chain, and third-party systems.
