EPMS Technical Lead

The Digital Power Solutions Technical Leader is responsible for leading the design, engineering, implementation, integration, testing, commissioning, and lifecycle support of advanced digital energy management and power system solutions.

The role serves as the technical authority for Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Power SCADA Operation (PSO), EcoStruxure Power Automation System (EPAS), Microgrid Control Systems, and ETAP Power System Studies across data centers, transportation, semiconductor, utilities, commercial buildings, government infrastructure, and critical facilities.

The candidate will work closely with customers, project managers, application engineers, solution architects, cybersecurity experts, and third-party vendors to deliver reliable, scalable, and cyber-secure solutions while driving technical excellence and innovation.

What will you do?

Technical Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end technical execution of Digital Power projects.
  • Define system architecture and engineering standards for EPMS, SCADA, Microgrid, and EMS solutions.
  • Act as the highest level technical escalation point during project execution.
  • Establish engineering governance, design reviews, and technical quality assurance processes.
  • Mentor and develop application engineers, commissioning engineers, and technical specialists.
  • Support competency development and capability building within the engineering organization.

Solution Design & Architecture

Power Monitoring Expert (PME)
  • Design and engineer Schneider Electric Power Monitoring Expert (PME) platforms.
  • Configure dashboards, reports, alarms, events, trends, and energy analytics.
  • Integrate PowerLogic meters, protection relays, and intelligent electronic devices (IEDs).
  • Design enterprise-level PME architectures including:
    • Redundancy
    • Virtualization
    • Disaster Recovery
    • High Availability Solutions
  • Integrate PME with Building Management Systems (BMS), Enterprise Systems, and Cloud Platforms.

Power SCADA Operation (PSO)
  • Design and deploy PSO systems for utility and industrial applications.
  • Configure:
    • One-line diagrams
    • Mimics
    • Alarms
    • Historian
    • Event Management
    • Reporting
  • Define operational workflows and control room functionality.
  • Integrate substations, switchgear and field devices using:
    • IEC 61850
    • DNP3
    • Modbus TCP/IP
    • OPC
    • SNMP

  • Perform and review ETAP studies including:
    • Load Flow Analysis
    • Short Circuit Analysis
    • Arc Flash Studies
    • Protection Coordination
    • Motor Starting Analysis
    • Harmonic Studies
    • Reliability Analysis
    • Dynamic Stability Studies
  • Provide recommendations to improve power system reliability and efficiency.
  • Interpret study results and communicate technical findings to customers.

Engineering & Project Execution
  • Review customer specifications and contract documents.
  • Develop Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
  • Develop Detailed Design Documents (DDD).
  • Prepare Network Architecture Drawings.
  • Review Control Logic and Communication Design.
  • Lead FAT, SAT, and Site Commissioning activities.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis during project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with project schedules, budgets, and quality objectives.
  • Collaborate with global engineering centers and execution teams.

Cybersecurity & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards including:
    • IEC 62443
    • NIST
    • ISO 27001
  • Design secure OT network architectures.
  • Support vulnerability assessments and cybersecurity audits.
  • Implement system hardening and patch management procedures.
  • Support customer cybersecurity certification requirements.

Business Development & Presales Support
  • Support solution development and technical proposal preparation.
  • Participate in customer workshops and solution presentations.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments during bid stages.
  • Provide effort estimation and engineering man-hour calculations.
  • Contribute to tender responses and technical clarifications.
  • Support proof-of-concept (POC) demonstrations and innovation initiatives.

    What qualifications will make you successful?

    Education
    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Automation Engineering, or equivalent.
    • Master's Degree would be advantageous.

    Experience
    • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in Digital Power, Energy Management, Automation, or Power System Engineering.
