Electromechanical Component Intern

What will you do?

  • In this role, you will support the standardization of electromechanical components across the organization, with a strong focus on connector families such as board‑to‑board (BTB), board‑to‑wire (BTW), terminal blocks, and I/O connectors. Your responsibilities will include:
    • Analyzing, classifying, and documenting electromechanical components to ensure consistent standardization across systems.
    • Supporting the creation, maintenance, and improvement of internal component catalogs and technical databases.
    • Reviewing technical specifications, mechanical characteristics, and relevant documentation from manufacturers.
    • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Procurement, SQE, and Category Management) to align standards and ensure component accuracy.
    • Preparing clear reports, presentations, and communications to update stakeholders on standardization progress.
    • Supporting continuous improvement activities related to component selection, data quality, and workflow optimization.
    • Helping identify and eliminate duplicated or obsolete components in the system.

Who will you report to?
  • You will report to the Electromechanical Components NA Representative, who oversees the standardization strategy and alignment across global teams. You will collaborate with:
    • Engineering teams who rely on accurate component classification.
    • Category Management and Procurement teams involved in supplier and part decisions.
    • SQE and Environmental Compliance teams when component data impacts approval processes.
      This is an individual contributor role, but with constant interaction across departments, offering visibility and collaboration opportunities.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Key Qualifications for Thriving
    • Currently pursuing a degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Foundational understanding of electromechanical components
    • Ability to read and interpret technical datasheets and basic mechanical parameters.
    • Strong organizational skills and disciplined task management.
    • Effective written and verbal communication for collaborating with global teams in english
    • Familiarity (or willingness to learn) with PLM systems, part catalogs, and documentation workflows.
    • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
    • Analytical mindset and eagerness to learn new technical concepts.
